Texas Heartbeat Bill: One Small and Significant Step for Mankind

My hope is that other states join the Lone Star State in its valiant efforts to affirm human life.

With the flick of a pen, the Lone Star State sent a resounding message to the pro-abortion (or rather, “anti-life”) movement that all lives matter in Texas. Thanks to the Texas Heartbeat Act signed into law in May and made effective the first of September, abortions after six weeks gestation are officially banned.

There’s no question progressives are unhinged about the possibility of new lives being born. It has even drawn a progressive play on words as medical “experts” claim that a “fetal heartbeat” isn’t even a medically acknowledge term. Some even regarded a six-week-old fetal heartbeat “electrical activity.” The fact that anti-lifers are attempting to redefine the way we talk about pregnancy and life is a sign that Texas has effectively hit the dog and made it holler.

This is a state that I believe is going in the right direction — that is toward life, not away from it. As a strong pro-life activist, I believe that if we aren’t fighting for fetal lives, we are fighting against them. Thankfully, Texas has set a solid, sound example that will help us all witness the beauty of God’s creation in every ultrasound.

Anti-lifers argue that the abortion ban is anti-woman while simultaneously celebrating the “pregnancy” of male gay rapper Lil Nas X. (He is not carrying life. He is carrying a lie.) And yet we find ourselves celebrating celebrity pregnancies as soon as the strip turns blue, while mourning miscarriages during a gestation period where progressives believe life doesn’t even exist. In fact, you can ask 100 different progressives when they believe life begins and receive 100 different answers. For the majority of us on the Right, the answer is simple — it starts at conception.

My hope is that other states join the Lone Star State in its valiant efforts to affirm human life. The future depends on it and can’t exist without it.
