The Patriot Post® · Biden Gives Millions More to Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood performs roughly 350,000 abortions each year. To perpetuate this grisly business, Congress funds the nation’s largest abortion mill to the tune of half a billion dollars each year. Laughably, Democrats insist this money doesn’t pay for abortions. As if that wasn’t enough, 10 Planned Parenthood affiliates have received $23 million from the Small Business Administration (SBA) via the Paycheck Protection Program thus far in 2021 — even after the federal government had ruled that Planned Parenthood did not qualify as a small business.

Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act last year, which included $320 billion in funding for small business to be administered by the SBA. It was meant to preserve small businesses in the face of mass shutdowns that threatened their very existence. Under that legislation, businesses of 500 or more employees were classified as big businesses and therefore ineligible for funds. Planned Parenthood received some $80 million in taxpayer-backed PPP funds in 2020, though it was subsequently ordered to return that funding.

Now, not only has the SBA provided no evidence that Planned Parenthood actually returned any of the $80 million, but it has evidently continued to distribute PPP funds to the abortion provider.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) thinks he knows why. He recently contended, “I think Democrats know it is illegal to give small business loans to the big business, that is Planned Parenthood, but they are completely in the tank for taxpayer-funded abortions.”

Adding insult to injury, it’s not as if Planned Parenthood is hurting for cash. Aside from the annual infusion we already mentioned, the abortion provider has over $2 billion in net assets according to its annual report. Furthermore, Planned Parenthood gave a whopping $45 million in support to Joe Biden and other Democrat candidates in 2020. And it’s spent $700,000 this year alone in lobbying efforts in Washington, DC.

Not only is taxpayer money going to an abortion provider, something the Hyde Amendment was intended to prevent, but a big business is taking millions in funding that was expressly designated only for small businesses. Mallory Quigley, vice president of communications at the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, rightly asserted, “It’s time to hold those who let this happen accountable.” Indeed.
