Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origin of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax finally appears to be picking up some steam. Just two weeks ago, Durham indicted longtime Democrat lawyer Michael Sussmann for lying to the FBI. Sussmann’s indictment represents only the second individual charged thus far in Durham’s two-plus-year investigation, the first being the FBI’s Kevin Clinesmith. Both indictments center on lying — lying to build arguably the biggest hoax our nation has ever seen.

Now we’ve learned that Durham has issued several subpoenas to individuals working for Sussmann’s former law firm, Perkins Coie. That’s the same law firm that happens to represent the Democratic National Committee and represented Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign. And by “represented,” we mean she funneled money through the firm to get the collusion hoax off the ground.

While Sussmann’s charge for one count of lying to the FBI appears to be rather small potatoes, Durham’s unusually long 27-page indictment reveals that the special counsel is looking to put together a much bigger conspiracy. That’s underscored by the news of the subpoenas, and it may indicate that more charges are coming against Sussmann.

However, the bigger fish that both Sussmann and Perkins Coie establish is their direct connection to the Clinton campaign. We already know that the bogus anti-Trump dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele and used by the FBI to secure a FISA warrant to surveil Trump’s campaign adviser Carter Page was paid for by the Clinton campaign.

We now know that Sussmann, who also happened to be employed by the Clinton campaign, shared what turned out to be bogus information with the FBI — a concocted story about an alleged covert connection between the Trump campaign and Kremlin via the Russian-owned Alfa Bank. Sussmann billed his client for this service while denying to the FBI that he had any connection to Hillary.

What we don’t know yet is how many more individuals connected to Clinton’s campaign are in Durham’s crosshairs, though it’s abundantly clear that those responsible for originating the Trump/Russia collusion hoax sit squarely in the Clinton camp. It’s as simple as this: Hillary, stinging from Donald Trump mocking her over her illegal server scandal and FBI investigation, worked hard to tie him into a Russia scandal and FBI probe of her own making.
