Americans everywhere are defying President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates. Airline CEOs, members of law enforcement, medical providers, independent businesses, and retailers are pushing back in a growing sign that our nation is willing to fight for our individual liberties and freedom.

But Biden, as usual, appears to be clueless about what is happening around him. Amid this growing rebellion, he released a five-minute film in his fake White House studio claiming that his mandates are working.

“[My plan] is working,” he said. “We’re making progress. Vaccine requirements that we started rolling out in the summer are working.”

If his mandates are working, why is Biden urging private businesses and parents to do more?

“I’m calling on more businesses to step up. I’m calling on more parents to get their children vaccinated, when they are eligible,” Biden said.

Gary Kelly, CEO of Southwest Airlines, backed off from earlier policy and announced that employees who refuse to receive COVID vaccines will not be terminated.

During an interview with ABC News, Kelly stated that no employees will be fired over the company’s vaccine mandate, reversing an earlier announcement from the airline that all 56,000 U.S. Southwest employees needed to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 24, or face termination.

The CEO also told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that there was “no evidence” that any type of demonstration against the mandate had contributed to the recent massive service disruptions. Thousands of Southwest flights were canceled, leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded. While that may be true, it is also true that in the wake of that “non-demonstration,” employees of Southwest are no longer facing termination for exercising a fundamental right.

Similarly, the CEO of Delta Air Lines flat-out said he opposes the mandate and doesn’t need one to get his employees vaccinated.

Delta CEO Ed Bastion told Fox Business News he will not fire employees based on their vaccination status.

He also stated the company will need to enact religious and medical exemptions to ensure that no one is facing termination over the mandate, according to Fox Business.

“By the time we’re done, we’ll be pretty close to fully vaccinated as a company without going through all the divisiveness of a mandate,” Bastian explained. “We’re proving that you can work collaboratively with your people, trusting your people to make the right decisions, respecting their decisions and not forcing them over the loss of their jobs.”

The growing rebellion is not limited to airline workers. Hospitals across the U.S. are seeing staffing shortages due to employees quitting or being fired over their non-compliance with vaccine mandates. Some of the nation’s most significant cities are facing mass resistance to mandates from police officers and firefighters, including as many as half of Chicago police officers who could be placed on leave over their refusal to disclose their vaccine status.

According to CNBC, trade groups have expressed skepticism and concern, and some are outright opposed.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in a September letter to the secretary of labor, raised a long list of questions from businesses, ranging from who will cover the cost of testing to how employers should deal with workers who refuse both vaccination and testing.

The Biden administration’s emergency order allows employers to offer weekly COVID testing for employees who opt not to get vaccinated but does not require it. Who pays that cost is not spelled out in the emergency order.

The National Retail Federation wrote last week in a letter to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh that it worried the requirements could compound labor shortages as the busy holiday shopping season approaches. The organization suggested a 90-day implementation period to give businesses time to come into compliance.

The Retail Industry Leaders Association has called the standard "a colossal undertaking" and warned that “testing capacity must be scaled immensely” to meet the expected demand. The National Association of Manufacturers said its members should not be burdened by “undue compliance costs.”

The National Federation of Independent Business is flatly opposed to the rule, accusing the Biden administration of “commandeering” businesses to act as “instruments of coercion” against employees.

As more and more individuals and groups speak out, resist, and defy the government mandate, freedom will prevail.
