The Patriot Post® · FBI Withholds Info From GOP J6 Committee
Here’s what every American should know about Nancy Pelosi’s Select Committee on January 6: She doesn’t want to get to the whole truth.
And how do we know this? Because for the first time in history, a House speaker has refused to seat the committee appointments made by the leader of the minority party. For the first time in history, a House speaker is stacking the deck in favor of a sanitized outcome. By refusing to seat Republican Congressmen Jim Jordan and Jim Banks, who were handpicked by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to represent the Republicans on the Select Committee, Nancy Pelosi will ensure that we don’t learn the whole truth about the January 6 riot at the Capitol, and that instead we learn only the partial truth of the partisan Left.
Thus, if you want to know precisely what role the FBI played in the breach of the Capitol that day — both the role of the bureau’s agents and of its agents provocateur — you won’t get it from the report that this Select Committee produces. You won’t, for example, learn about the role Ray Epps and his associates played in orchestrating and enacting the events of January 6.
Republicans — and, we believe, plenty of everyday Americans — also want to know why the Capitol had ineffective riot shields during the attack; why they were told that a map of the Capitol’s tunnels was being shared publicly but did nothing about it; why the National Guard arrived a full three hours after they were called; why the FBI didn’t warn anyone of the potential threat until the night beforehand, January 5; and why the Capitol assault began 20 minutes before Trump was done speaking.
Might it be that Nancy Pelosi, who as speaker of the House is ultimately responsible for Capitol security, might not want to know the answers to these questions?
That Pelosi won’t allow Indiana’s Banks onto the Select Committee is a disgrace. Banks is a former naval officer, an Afghanistan war veteran, and a very serious man. As for Ohio’s Jordan, an NCAA champion wrestler, there may be no more dogged or determined member of Congress anywhere. Instead, Pelosi selected two Trump-deranged and impeachment-supporting Republican outliers: former Minority Whip Liz Cheney from Wyoming and Congressman Adam Kinzinger from Illinois. In response, Leader McCarthy announced that he’d tasked Banks with leading a Republican investigation into January 6.
Further evidence of Pelosi’s desire to avoid the inconvenient truths that a Jordan or a Banks might uncover emerged earlier this week. As The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway reports:
The FBI told Indiana Republican Rep. Jim Banks it would not provide Republicans the same information provided to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked committee consisting only of Democrat-appointed members. “We respectfully refer you to the Select Committee regarding issues of access to records and information,” the agency wrote in response to a Republican request for information, referring to the official House panel established by the Speaker.
Why aren’t Republicans being given access to the exact same information that their Democrat colleagues have access to? Is it because they’ll likely uncover information that would be inconvenient to the Democrats’ narrative of a riot hatched and carried out entirely by the same Trump supporters who came to hear the president speak earlier that day?
As Hemingway continues: “The erased distinction between the peaceful protest with [President Trump] and the violence at the Capitol has become a hallmark of Pelosi’s efforts to embed the events of Jan. 6 into the American psyche and indict political dissidents.”
There’s still a lot we don’t know about the events of January 6. And the Democrats and their FBI partners aim to keep it that way.
