The infamous Colin Kaepernick, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and career left-wing activist, made headlines again this week with regard to his Netflix special “Colin in Black & White.”

One clip compares the NFL Draft to a slave auction, full of poking and prodding and shredding of dignity. This was a bridge too far, even for Kaepernick’s usual standard of over-the-top protests. Folks immediately excoriated this ludicrous claim. The Babylon Bee got in on the fun with a satirical article headlined, “Kaepernick Starts Underground Railroad To Help Other NFL Stars Escape To Freedom.” In other words, Kaepernick is a regular Hair-iet Tubman. Seriously, that fro is impressive.

All jokes aside, Kaepernick’s claim is stupid on its face because the NFL Draft is far from a slave auction. The term “slave” defines a person who doesn’t get paid for his labor, and those who participate in the Draft are not only eager to get recruited because they love football and are following their NFL dreams, but they’ll also make substantial money doing it. It’s deeply insulting to say otherwise.

Kaepernick — who five minutes ago claimed he wanted to go back to the NFL — seems to be doing everything he can to sabotage that effort. As political pundit Matt Walsh noted: “Kaepernick spent half a decade crying that NFL teams wouldn’t give him a shot and now he’s decided that actually being an NFL player is like being a slave. This dude is the most obvious and shameless con artist in modern American history.” This Netflix docuseries is just the latest example. As further evidence of Kaepernick’s hypocrisy, he contracts with Nike — a company that uses actual slave labor to manufacture its product — and makes millions. Clearly, it’s far more profitable for him to race hustle than to work for a living.

Jack Brewer, a black former NFL player and evangelist, spoke out against Kaepernick. Given his pedigree, he is uniquely qualified to critique Kaepernick. He calls Kaepernick’s doctrine an evil “that’s penetrating the minds and hearts of so many of our underserved black kids across America.” Brewer, who is the CEO of the Brewer Group — a Christian ministry that serves orphans and fatherless kids across the nation — said he’s very distraught that Kaepernick keeps repeating the lie that black men are victims. This, he said, is the “single largest threat to black men.” These young men who are Kaepernick’s audience, 70% of whom are fatherless and already have an uphill battle in terms of education, are the most vulnerable population. Brewer addresses Kaepernick, saying, “You’re supposed to be someone that’s a leader.”

Brewer challenges Kaepernick to do some “soul searching.” It’s a shame that unintelligent men like Colin Kaepernick are constantly in the news and patriots like Jack Brewer are not. Imagine how much good Brewer could do with a platform like Kaepernick’s.
