The Patriot Post® · Biden's FBI Targets Project Veritas Over Daughter's 'Stolen' Diary
Another broken Joe Biden promise? It would certainly appear so after the FBI raided the home of independent journalist and Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe this past Sunday. According to O'Keefe, the agents who conducted the early morning raid were searching for materials related to the “stolen” or lost diary of Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden. In the days prior, two other Project Veritas associates were subject to search warrants as well. What’s going on with the Biden family and the FBI?
Evidently, days prior to the 2020 election, some obscure websites had published excerpts from the diary, and O'Keefe says those who obtained the diary had shopped it to Project Veritas. Notably, Project Veritas was unable to verify the diary’s authenticity, never published any of its contents, and turned it over to law enforcement.
By law, journalists cannot be prosecuted for publishing stolen materials unless they were involved in the theft. Furthermore, law enforcement is not permitted to force journalists to give up their sources.
Now, to the diary. There are troubling alleged “excerpts” from the diary that surfaced last year, in which Ashley Biden is said to reference childhood trauma associated with possible sexual abuse by her father. Those salacious allegations were not verifiable but will receive public attention now anyway. Perhaps the FBI investigation will eventually determine if there are any criminal allegations in this diary or derived from its contents.
“Why would the FBI be coming in on this?” asks constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley. “Project Veritas said it didn’t run the information and notified local law enforcement. So there is a legitimate concern when the FBI becomes involved in this type of story, as to whether it is going outside of those navigational beacons that we use to judge whether they are acting independently.”
We’ve seen this type of out-of-bounds work by the FBI on behalf of Biden before. Recall the FBI’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s handgun incident back when Joe was vice president. Turley notes, “A lot of people asked at that time, why would the FBI be involved in that, if that’s true.” He further observed that this latest raid “does raise questions about the promise made by the Biden administration that it is going to be more careful when dealing with media figures.”
Or could it be, as Mark Alexander wonders, that this whole investigation is a “false flag” diversion from Biden’s abysmal disapproval ratings? A “false flag” op is a fabricated political diversion, what Nancy Pelosi defined as the “wrap-up smear” tactic. You know, such as the Russia-collusion hoax Democrats created to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.
Finally, we can’t miss the blatant counterintuitive factor this FBI raid appears to have exposed, and that is the question regarding the authenticity of the diary. It would seem, if O'Keefe’s claims are to be believed, that the FBI’s raid seeking the “stolen” diary serves to tacitly confirm its authenticity. At the very least, this will raise public awareness of the existence of the diary, which both the mainstream media and even most conservative media outlets first deemed as little other than salacious gossip. If the FBI is really attempting to recover Ashley Biden’s lost dairy, then there must be something of significance contained within it.
