Next Thursday, when MSNBC President Rashida Jones sits down for Thanksgiving dinner, we suspect she’ll give thanks for CNN. Why? Because no matter how bad things get there at 30 Rock, no matter how thoroughly her network disgraces itself, no matter how convincingly Fox News cleans its clock in the monthly viewership ratings, she can always remind herself: It could be worse. We could be CNN.

This week, though, the network for race-obsessed racists and guilty white leftists seemed to be vying for that bottom spot. How else to explain the increasingly toxic takes from anchor Joy Reid, or the network’s appallingly idiotic effort to doxx the jurors of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial?

Reid, who hosts “The Reidout” each weeknight at 7 p.m., put her emotional unwellness on full display in a TikTok video that was equal parts bizarre and creepy. Perhaps she hasn’t gotten over the triumph of truth over leftist lies in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, or perhaps she couldn’t stand to see her hopes for a legal lynching of young Kyle Rittenhouse go up in smoke. Or perhaps it’s simpler than that; perhaps she just doesn’t like white people.

“In America,” she said, “there’s a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears. Really, white tears in general, because that’s what Karens are, right? They Karen out and then as soon as they get caught, bring waterworks. White men can get away with that too, and it has the same effect.”

“White crocodile tears,” she called them. What a sick puppy. What a racist.

We wonder: Has the thought ever occurred to Reid that this 18-year-old kid is genuinely traumatized about the events of that night last year in Kenosha? About having had to shoot and kill two gentlemen criminally violent thugs and wound a third thug in order to save himself?

Probably not.

As columnist Miranda Devine rightly points out, “This is a woman on a seven-figure salary who went to Harvard and has more elite privilege in her little finger than the 17-year-old son of a single mother who was in Kenosha working as a lifeguard when all hell broke loose in the form of BLM-Antifa riots in August 2020.”

Recall that this is the same Joy Reid who last year called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas “Uncle Clarence.” And the same Joy Reid who earlier this year sneeringly said of South Carolina’s first black senator since Reconstruction, “You gotta love Tim Scott standing there to provide the patina of diversity.”

As if Reid’s latest dose of racism weren’t enough, MSNBC also had to answer for its efforts this week to doxx the Rittenhouse jury. A man who identified himself as an MSNBC producer was apparently caught following the jury bus after deliberations Wednesday night. Judge Bruce Schroeder, a Democrat appointee, has accordingly banned the network from the Kenosha County Courthouse.

As constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley noted: “The seriousness of this incident cannot be overstated. It is not simply because the police suspected MSNBC was trying to take [the jurors’] pictures. If the jurors believed that they were being followed, it could add to their unease about voting in the case.”

So goes it at MSNBC. Rank racism and attempted jury intimidation. But just as Rashida Jones must appreciate CNN, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott no doubt appreciates having more than one Leftmedia lickspittle to slap around. Earlier this week, just like clockwork, her network did its monthly gloating: “Fox News was the only basic cable network to average 1 million viewers, finishing the week of Nov. 8-14 with an average audience of 1.5 million while runner-up ESPN settled for 983,000. Hallmark Chanel, MSNBC and HGTV rounded out the top five, and CNN continued to struggle with a dismal average audience of only 483,000 viewers.”

Nearly 20 years ago, then-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer lamented that if he’d had it to do all over again, he wouldn’t have launched MSNBC.

We’re lucky he didn’t have that chance. And we’re grateful that leftists have a place to call their own — a place where they can show the rest of us their true colors.
