If you are a consumer of the mainstream media, you probably believe the majority of Americans are bigoted, hateful, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, and whatever else the Left can think of at any given time.
But stop and think for a moment where all this anger and hatred for all things American comes from. Just a brief 20 years ago, we were not seeing this level of hatred and anger. While the far Left has always ridiculed conservatives (think Ronald Reagan and both George H. W. and George W. Bush), when Obama came into office, the temperature was dialed up to full-blown hatred.
It started with “all cops are racist,” and every police shooting involving a white officer and a black suspect was proof of systemic racism. When an incident happened, the media would be spinning the story before facts were known. The harmless kid (read: thug) Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer as he knelt on the ground with his hands up. Thus came Black Lives Matter and “Hands up, don’t shoot!” It was a lie, but it worked.
Leftists don’t let truth stand in the way of a good narrative. If it advances their cause, use it! Is it just me, or does it seem like all of the Left’s martyrs have questionable backgrounds? Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, George Floyd — the list goes on. Before obtaining sainthood, all had extensive criminal records. Check the criminal records of the three who tried to assault Kyle Rittenhouse!
The problem is, lives are destroyed because false narratives and the trust factor of most of the media went down the toilet. The George Floyd case led to hundreds of riots (or “mostly peaceful” protests) that cost the nation nearly $2 billion in destruction of mostly minority businesses. Hundreds of police officers were injured, and nearly two dozen people were killed.
Democrat House members, led by Nancy Pelosi, took a knee for Floyd, but never for a fallen police officer or a servicemember killed in Kabul. Seems to me they’re sending flyover country a message?
When the leading person in Congress continues to spew hatred for this country, attacks the motives of anyone who disagrees with her, has political protestors jailed in inhumane conditions, and denies bail or a speedy trial to punish anyone who might be a fan of Donald Trump, she should be of concern to all of us. How about members of Congress standing on the steps of the Supreme Court threatening “revolution” if the justices vote the “wrong way”?
Many trials are no longer based on evidence, but feelings. When the president, vice president, and half a dozen other political figures declare you guilty before the facts are even known, your trial outcome may be dubious. When the media shadows jurors to intimidate them, that should be troubling for everyone.
It seems to be nonstop. Speaker Pelosi accuses Republicans of being domestic terrorists, then wants their help to pass legislation. How’s that working for you, Nancy? I would not wish harm on anyone, but I’m certainly praying Pelosi would suddenly develop a conscience and step down. Personally, I think she is definitely past her “expiration date”!
What will it take to tamp down the hate? It will take patriotic Americans voting out every elected official next year who has revealed that they are not on America’s side. Doing nothing is not an option!
