The Patriot Post® · Biden Failed to 'Shut Down' the Virus
“I’ll put in place a plan to deal with this pandemic responsibly, I’ve already done it. … I’m not going to shut down the economy, I’m not going to shut down the country, but I’m going to shut down the virus.” —Joe Biden, December 27, 2020
“There is no federal solution. This gets solved at the state level.” —Joe Biden, December 27, 2021
The ChiCom Virus pandemic has claimed more lives under Biden than under Donald Trump, and that’s after the vaccine was created and introduced under Trump and then politicized and mandated by Biden. More than anything, the last year has proven the unmitigated hubris of a man — a man with alarmingly declining mental faculties at that — who thought he could lead the federal government in defeating a virus.
He told a conference call of governors last week that he’s suddenly a fan of federalism, but that only means he’s trying to pass the buck for his failure. (Remember when leftists basically called Trump Hitler for taking a federalist approach?) If Biden really believed what he said, he’d rescind every mandate he’s issued, call off the dogs of his administration, and offer a primetime apology for overstepping constitutional bounds while grossly politicizing the pandemic.
Moreover, Biden ought to apologize personally to Trump, of whom he said after 220,000 deaths, “Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain President of the United States.” Biden, after all, has failed his own test.
He doesn’t believe his own words, of course, and he won’t rescind or apologize for anything. Perhaps, however, the Supreme Court will severely rebuke him this week over the employer and healthcare worker vaccine mandates.
Arrogance isn’t Biden’s only fault; lies and deceit are up there too. Biden spent all of 2021 promising more COVID tests, probably because all his Leftmedia propagandists do is fearmonger about the latest alarming rise in cases. Confirming cases means more testing.
“I wish I had thought about ordering” 500 million rapid at-home tests “two months ago,” Biden said last week. Indeed, Biden made a big deal about ordering the production of 500 million test kits so people can self-test quickly and isolate if necessary. Well, Vanity Fair, not exactly a right-wing publication, says that statement rings hollow because in October his administration turned down a plan that would have gotten 700 million tests kits in homes and on store shelves in advance of the holidays.
A reporter asked Biden why the test plan was rejected, and he said, “We didn’t reject it.” Really? The Vanity Fair story was well sourced with multiple people quoted. Someone’s lying.
The reality is that this pandemic has become endemic, and we all need to learn to live with it. Doing so would be a lot more manageable without the heavy hand of government bearing down on us.
