Many Patriot Post contributors have done an excellent job reporting on the Democrats’ Kabuki theater of the January 6 “insurrection.” I want to look at this from the perspective of a combat veteran.

On the anniversary of the January 6 riot, high-ranking government officials compared the incompetent “takeover” to the Civil War, Pearl Harbor, and 9/11. They looked into the cameras and with a straight face declared this bold lie.

Let’s unpack this. Anyone who was actually taught history knows the Civil War was a heartbreaking event. It pitted brother against brother, resulting in over 600,00 deaths over four bloody years. Whether you think it was a war over slavery or states’ rights, the death toll was a tragedy of epic proportions.

Pearl Harbor began America’s entrance into WWII, which President Roosevelt had tried to avoid. The Japanese sneak attack on our naval fleet at Pearl Harbor resulted in 2,403 total casualties, including 68 civilians. America’s involvement in the war would last four years, resulting in nearly 300,000 killed and over 400,000 wounded.

The 9/11 attack on America resulted in nearly 3,000 deaths and began the long War on Terror. The Biden administration is trying hard to turn our successes into failures by abandoning the battlefields, making us less safe. Weakness only emboldens our enemies.

The January 6 riot in 2021 was the worst insurrection ever undertaken. The rioters had no real weapons. The FBI months ago quietly released its findings that it was not an organized event. The only true casualty was a 110-pound unarmed Air Force veteran who was shot point-blank by a Capitol Police lieutenant. Watching the video, you have to wonder what the riot police who were directly behind Ashley Babbitt and in the direct line of fire felt when the officer opened fire, killing her.

Four people died of health-related issues. They were not killed by rioters. The Left trumpeted the “murder” of a Capitol Police officer who was allegedly beaten to death with a fire extinguisher — except he wasn’t! The coroner’s office waited three months to release the results of Officer Brian Sicknick. Like the FBI report, the cause of death was quietly released months later. Of the hundreds arrested and held without their civil rights, none have been charged with treason or insurrection. They would have fared better if they had taken part in Black Lives Matter/antifa riots!

It’s heartbreaking to watch how this event has been used to keep up the attack on Trump with the goal of keeping him from running for office again. Sadder still, there are apparently millions who watch the propaganda and believe the events are true. Or do they?

Liz Cheney does! She wants to get to the truth! I wonder how she came to be so severely afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome?

The Capitol riot was disgusting. Having said that, why won’t the Capitol Police explain the video of officers opening gates and barriers and waving protestors in? Why have “agitators” urging people to go in suddenly disappeared from the FBI’s Most Wanted list?

Are there any moderate Democrats left who are not okay with this abuse of power? Are you okay with this radical shift to the far left? There’s so much more that inquiring minds want to know.
