  • Filibuster stays intact, Dems fail to pass election cheating bills: Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) stayed true to their word and refused to bend to the heavy pressure campaign exerted against them by their own party leadership and the Leftmedia to end their resistance to changing the Senate’s filibuster rules. As a result, the Democrats’ dubious and partisan “election reform” bills (more accurately described as anti-election integrity) went down in flames, failing to garner the 60 votes needed to overcome the Republicans’ filibuster. Not a single Republican voted for the Democrats’ voting bills, and Americans should thank Manchin and Sinema for standing on principle over party.

  • Military kids are privileged, according to Fairfax County Public Schools: In yet another example of just how deeply Critical Race Theory has infested northern Virginia public schools, curriculum out of a Fairfax County school has students play a woke bingo game titled “Identifying Your Privilege.” The “game” is designed to indoctrinate students in the Left’s victimology hierarchy, listing several “privilege” (i.e. oppressor) categories such as “white,” “male,” “employed,” or “Christian.” Also included in the “privilege” bingo list was “Military Kid.” When parents complained, specifically noting the reality that children in military families have to struggle with a variety of difficulties including the risk of losing a parent, Assistant Superintendent Douglas A. Tyson dubiously claimed that the approved English class curriculum was only being used to help students “read critically and think critically about the author’s perspective on several fronts including the author’s privilege that may or may not be present in the work” and then to “juxtapose their thoughts regarding any perceived privilege they think they may have and how they would potentially rewrite portions of the text.” Of course, Tyson’s response affirms parental objections — that students are being trained to conceive of the world through a CRT lens.

  • Youngkin initiates major course correction for state’s diversity office: Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has been in office less than a week, but he is clearly not content to ease into his new position, as he has issued a slew of executive orders. Yesterday, Youngkin took on the state’s diversity office, where he cleaned house and appointed Angela Sailor, who was the vice president of The Feulner Institute at the Heritage Foundation, to be the new chief diversity, opportunity, and inclusion officer. Importantly, Youngkin intentionally removed the word “equity” from the job description and replaced it with “opportunity.” He explained that Sailor’s role would be to “promote free speech and civil discourse in civic life,” be an “ambassador for unborn children [and] be responsive to the rights of parents in educational and curricular decision making.”

  • CNN announces misinformation coverage team: In a classic example of the old adage of the pot calling the kettle black, CNN announced that it is creating a team dedicated to “covering misinformation.” No, this was not a joke. In making his announcement, CNN’s Business Managing Editor Alex Koppelman explained: “What do we mean by covering misinformation? Really it’s about covering reality: The uses, abuses, and distortions of it, the people twisting it, and the effect that has on all of us. We already do a lot of important work on this; we want to do more.” Social media erupted with near universal laughter and comments similar to that of The Babylon Bee’s Seth Dillion, who succinctly wrote: “CNN creates team dedicated to covering CNN.”
