Observations
“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act.” —George Orwell (1903-1950)
“It’s safe to say this is the worst first year of a presidency in modern history. We’ve seen our energy industry attacked, our medical freedom infringed upon, and our standing on the world stage diminished. Biden began his administration with an assault on the American energy industry by shutting down pipelines and banning drilling on federal lands and waters, threatening millions of jobs nationwide and hundreds of thousands in my home state of Texas. Biden created the worst border crisis in decades when he rolled back Trump’s border security policies. … Inflation surged to 6.8% in 2021, an invisible tax on Americans that’s forcing people to pay more for everyday goods. Meanwhile, Biden’s first year in office erased 3 years of real wage growth for American families. Instead of addressing rising crime across the country, Joe Biden’s FBI decided to target parents who are rightly concerned about what their kids are learning in school. Biden is directly responsible for the disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan that led to the deaths of 13 Americans and countless allies. Biden’s feckless foreign policy has emboldened authoritarians like Putin and Xi Jinping. In an assault on basic medical freedom and personal choice, Biden imposed an unconstitutional vaccine mandate on businesses and healthcare workers, forcing people to choose between their jobs or the vaccine. Biden pushed the most damaging legislation in American history that would have killed American energy jobs, raised taxes on middle-class families, and made an already historic inflation crisis worse. … This is what one-year of a Biden Administration got us. None of it is good for our country. … Joe Biden gets an F, for failure, on every single issue he’s touched.” —Congressman Dan Crenshaw
For the Record
“Instead of trying to be ‘woke’/politically correct and targeting parents who care about what schools are teaching their children, the FBI/Dept of Homeland Security should focus on actual threats like the jihadist who terrorized the Texas synagogue.” —Tulsi Gabbard
“When Team Biden talks about giving away 400 million face masks, what the administration really means is it’s taking 400 million face masks worth of U.S. tax dollars and distributing it among the good citizens of the United States — and labeling it free. This is a lie. It’s not free; it’s paid with taxes. But what makes this particular government lie even worse is that the real beneficiary of this taxpayer-funded distribution is — China. ‘Most N95 masks are still made in China,’ Rolling Stone wrote in December. Meanwhile, The New York Times wrote this month about Bill Taubner, the president of Bona Fide Masks, ‘the exclusive distributor in the United States for both Powecom and Harley KN95 masks, which are from China.’ Yay, Team Biden. Helping fund the communist competition, one face mask at a time."—Cheryl Chumley
Re: Ukraine
"We want to remind the great powers that there are no minor incursions and small nations. Just as there are no minor casualties and little grief from the loss of loved ones.” —Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky
“Speaking of minor and full incursions or full invasion, you cannot be half-aggressive. You’re either aggressive or you’re not aggressive. We should not give Putin the slightest chance to play with quasi-aggression or small incursion operations. This aggression was there since 2014. This is the fact.” —Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba
Re: The Left
“I’m absolutely concerned about that.” —House Majority Whip James Clyburn when asked, “Are you concerned that without these voting rights [read: cheating rights] bills the election results won’t be legitimate?”
“Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema’s hand. Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands.” —former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, who later gaslighted: “I deleted a tweet because it was widely misinterpreted and distorted by conservative media. ‘Back of the hand’ is an idiom for rebuke. I wholeheartedly condemn violence against women.”
“Unlawful presence in the United States will alone not be a basis for an immigration enforcement action.” —DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas (“A Cabinet Secretary openly pledges to violate federal law. Impeach.” —Stephen Miller)
Grand Delusions
“Working people want to tax the rich — and it turns out that the rich want to be taxed too.” —Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal
“I think it has to be viewed as a remarkable success that the unemployment has fallen the most in a year in American history.” —Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen (If by “remarkable success” she means decimating the labor force via government handouts, then yes.)
And Last…
“I, for one, am incredibly relieved that M&Ms will finally be more inclusive. But the movement for junk food diversity will not be complete until Reese’s peanut butter cups can finally wear their peanut butter on the outside.” —Ben Shapiro
