The Patriot Post® · United We Stand
It seems like just yesterday that Joe Biden stood on the steps of the Capitol building, thrilling our hearts with his message of unity. For those of us who saw an impending disaster coming at us like a speeding freight train, we were calmed by the soothing words of Scranton Joe telling us not to fear.
Uncle Joe would unite us, unlike that Donald Trump guy who caused “political extremism, white supremacy, [and] domestic terrorism.”
Biden was going to put his “whole soul” into “uniting to fight the common foes we face.” Those foes were: “Anger, resentment, hatred. Extremism, lawlessness, violence. Disease, joblessness, hopelessness.”
President Unity reflected on “the Civil War, the Great Depression, World War, [and] 9/11,” during which “our ‘better angels’ have always prevailed.” Biden was going to lower the temperature in our dialogue. He was going to treat everyone with respect and listen to everyone. He told us we needed to “reject a culture in which facts themselves are manipulated and even manufactured.”
My favorite part was when he said he was going to be everyone’s president, not just those who voted for him. Biden said, “I will fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did.” Wow. What a guy who could put away his feelings toward those who didn’t vote for him and respect us as opponents who could simply agree to disagree.
Where do I start? There’s so much more President Unity pontificated about, which lasted a New York minute — long enough for him go to the Oval Office and begin tearing down everything that could remotely be credited to President Trump. He eliminated everything that had made America better, stronger, and safer for four years. How do I NOT trust thee? Let me count the ways (apologies to Shakespeare). Just like the many promises Biden made about unifying the country, there are many examples of his broken promises. It’s actually sad to see how his handlers trot him out to speak on different issues. He rambles incoherently, forgets where he’s at, and snaps when asked a question he doesn’t like, especially if the questioner is a conservative.
Good old Joe is turning into an angry old man right before our eyes. Is there anyone in his family who cares how this looks to a nation that needs strong leadership right now? How’s that “unity” promise working out for us? It includes mask mandates, threats of firings for not taking the vaccine, and implying those who won’t take the shot are killing their fellow Americans. Truck drivers, first responders, and law enforcement officers will be fired if they refuse the jab, going from heroes to zeros in less than two years!
And for all you terrorist parents, watch out! The FBI is coming for you. How dare you think you have any business interfering with your kid’s education. Who do you think you are? You’re probably on the terrorist watch list now.
I’m not the sharpest bulb in the drawer, I mean, the brightest knife in the box, but I don’t see how any of this brings us together. Then again, I had very low expectations of Unity Joe, and he has not disappointed me.
Something to think about?
