I believe many of us in America are exhausted by the leftists’ constant bombardment upon those they disagree with as haters, racists, bigots, or whatever pops into their mind. It’s endless because rather than engage in dialogue they know they can’t win with reason, they attack. It seems it’s all they know how to do.

When the world was watching the horrors of the war in Ukraine unfold, MSNBC political news commentator Joy Reid had a different take on the war. Ms. Reid asked if we would be paying attention to this war if it was located where the people were not white and mostly Christian. So Joyless Reid found racism in the coverage of the war because the victims were white and mostly Christian. I believe Reid could find racism in a fence post if it was painted white.

What a miserable life these leftists must live as they have to spend so much time and energy finding fault in everyone who is different from them (not a progressive). If you spend any time watching the mainstream media or reading their publications, they don’t seem to have anything else to offer. Where are the “feel good” stories about those who are making an impact to improve the lives of others?

The strategy of the Left for decades and decades has been to divide us into tribes, warring against each other and weakening the country to make it easier to pick up the pieces when everything collapses. There is a better way to change our culture and to bring us together. It’s radical and anathema to the Left — love. Love conquers all. I’m not talking about the Hollywood kind of love. I’m talking about the kind of love that changes lives.

After my time in Vietnam, as I was flown out of the country on a medical evacuation flight, I never wanted to go back. There were too many painful memories, too many friends I’d never see again. After over four years of battling my demons every night, I found peace in a man named Jesus Christ.

Years later, I found myself in Vietnam standing before a former North Vietnamese Army (NVA) colonel. After a time of talking about our mutual experiences during the war, I realized this man was the commander of a regiment that nearly wiped out my Marine company during a brutal and bloody three-day battle. Realizing this awkward situation, the colonel asked me why I would come back to Vietnam. I told him: “Sir, Jesus Christ has healed my pain from the time I served here in Vietnam. Because of that, I can say I love you and Jesus loves you!”

When our translator stopped weeping and told him what I said, he got up and came around the table, threw his arms around my waist, and wept. When he finished, the colonel told the translator to tell me he had never had an “enemy” say he loved him. Love conquers all!

Sometimes the situations we face appear hopeless. That is a lie! If we have faith in Christ, we are never without hope. Our lives are never empty or without purpose. We have no fear of what lies before us. Choose to love your enemies rather than hate them. Their hatred blinds them while our love can help them see.

Something to pray about!
