The cacophony surrounding the Parental Rights in Education law in Florida has sparked an inane debate over use of the word “groomer” to describe some of its loud and deceitful opponents. The debate is petty, but since it’s also important to “define our terms” — as podcaster and political pundit Allie Beth Stuckey always says — this author will attempt to sort through the vagaries of terminology so that the “groomer” accusation is clearly defined and directed at its target.

What is a groomer?

A groomer (noun) is a derivative of the word “groom.” It’s a person who prepares or trains someone for a particular purpose. To narrow the definition even further for our purposes here, let’s define that purpose as evil or perverted. In this context, it can refer to a pedophile sexually grooming a child, making them more vulnerable and malleable to the groomer’s predations.

Some of the people who are against the parental rights bill absolutely fit this description. Their motivations for blocking parental oversight is to make it easier to manipulate, pervert, and sexually/politically take advantage of children. Fundamentally, they want more people like them as a form of affirmation. Some of these groomers are teachers, some are politicians, some are creators of content for children. The common denominator is that they are people in places of authority over children.

Groomers can also be political activists. They are preparing children for the purpose of furthering their political agenda and even manipulating their worldviews to shift the scales in the future.

Who is grooming our children?

Now that the term “groomer” has been defined, let’s move on to why this term can be applied to, for example, the Biden administration. Though he has voted against such an agenda in the past, President Joe Biden has made his allegiance clear when it comes to the “transgender” agenda. In one town hall while he was campaigning, he promised a mother that he would support “gender affirming” care for children. This now includes puberty blockers and surgeries for children. Biden and his administration view this push for “transgender” rights as a righteous and healthy cause. Jen Psaki, Biden’s more eloquent and condescending mouthpiece, calls this “healthcare” and “a best practice.” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says that denying puberty blockers and surgery for “transgender” children and teens will “kill them.”

Fact is, the science doesn’t support this oft-repeated lie from the Left: “transgender” kids are more likely to kill themselves if denied “gender affirmation.” Sadly, gender dysphoric kids are suicidal either way. Another aspect of the “transgender boom” especially among teen girls is that this narrative of suicide if they don’t get what they want is like a playbook. Suicide as a crime is prone to copycats (this is proven science). These politicians are merely taking advantage of this fact. It is government-sanctioned grooming.

Since the country’s highest human authority says that this is ok, naturally the lower authorities — Disney, eduactivists, and others — are parroting the talking points to the next generation to make them more “tolerant” and “kind.” These lower authorities are taking their “evangelical” message straight to the classrooms, as New Jersey parents are chagrined to find out.

True kindness would be to uphold the truth about gender and to let kids be innocent, non-sexual, and under the authority of their parents.

Why are they grooming children?

Politicians are motivated to groom and indoctrinate children both politically and sexually because it makes them easier to control. It also makes them more sympathetic to the radical Left because they are taught what to think, not how to think. It is a long game that the leftists have played taking over our institutions. The fruits of this poisoned tree are more and more toxic with each passing year. The shortsighted thing about it is that these children who are transitioning as a way of coping with depression, anxiety, and puberty (only a very minuscule amount actually have gender dysphoria) still will have lasting health issues and may ultimately commit suicide. This doesn’t matter to the Left. Only winning does.

Activists who are living this lifestyle are motivated to groom children because they want their lifestyle affirmed. They want to create a utopia in which their sexual abnormalities are the rule, not the exception. This is toxic for a healthy society. Committed, loving men married to committed, loving women create the next generation of children. The nuclear family is the best chance that children have to grow into a stable and strong generation. There are obviously exceptions to this rule, but the exceptions don’t make the rule.

This debate over semantics is a trap.

Ultimately, this debate is the same distracting trope that leftist use to focus the Right on a side issue — in this case, semantics over the word “groomer.” When people use words to describe a truth that is generally the rule, leftists get offended because there are always exceptions to the rule. For example: Humans use their ears to hear; just because there are deaf people doesn’t negate that humans use their ears to hear. Leftists do this with culture war issues all the time. They argue that abortions should be legal because some women are raped or some women’s lives are threatened by the pregnancy. The number of all pregnant women who want abortions is very small, yet these exceptions are used to justify the mass murder of preborn babies.

Calling a groomer a groomer is simply telling the truth. The truth isn’t always pleasant, but it is the truth. This debate is beside the point. The real focus for conservatives should be zeroing in on how to protect our children and how to defeat sexual and political grooming. The choices that we make as parents and citizens are akin to the planting of a seed — we may not see the fruits of our labor in this lifetime, but hopefully our children and grandchildren will.
