Top of the Fold

  • Twitter board poised to reject Musk’s offer: In the coming days, Twitter’s board of directors is expected to officially reject Elon Musk’s $43 billion bid to purchase 100% of the social media company’s stock. Musk’s repeated criticism of Twitter’s anti-free speech stance has apparently prompted the ideologically leftist board members to attempt to stave off a hostile takeover, which included the board adopting a “poison pill” provision. There are reports that the Twitter board may be courting an offer from private-equity firm Them Bravo LP, which in turn could receive financial backing from Apollo Global Management, which owns Yahoo. Under such a deal, Twitter’s board would seek a cooperative agreement for running the company. Meanwhile, Musk is also communicating with Apollo for financial backing. Either way, Twitter’s board has made its position clear, as has Musk.

  • Quantifying The Great Hunter Biden MSM Blackout: Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal is the stuff that in years past would have consumed the mainstream media coverage of Washington politics. It surpasses past historic political scandals, and yet legacy media outlets have barely even acknowledged its existence. The Media Research Center recently analyzed the coverage given the story by the big three broadcast news networks, ABC, CBS, and NBC, since the story first broke in October 2020. Over that 18-month span, MRC found that the big three spent a total of just 25 minutes and six seconds covering the story. ABC offered the least coverage, totaling only 58 seconds in all its news coverage programs. NBC came in second with just over nine minutes, while CBS devoted 15 minutes. Making matter worse, ABC, CBS, and NBC went over 160 days — from October 24, 2020 to April 1, 2021 — before finally acknowledging the story. The blackout worked, as polling found that 45% of Joe Biden voters in seven swing states said they were completely unaware of the scandal, while some 9% of Biden voters said such knowledge would have changed their vote. The leftist bias of MSM outlets is revealed not merely in what news they cover but often in what they choose not to cover.

  • Biden saved by the Easter Bunny: While hosting his first White House Easter Egg Roll, Joe Biden was intercepted by a staffer dressed as an Easter Bunny just as he was starting to answer a reporter’s question regarding Afghanistan and Pakistan. Biden said, “Pakistan should not and Afghanistan should be — people should be free…” just as the Easter Bunny jumped between Biden and the reporter, waving her hands and ushering the old and doddering chief executive away. The incident, caught on camera, elicited a litany of responses on social media related to Biden’s advanced age and clearly diminishing mental acuity. The incident further exposes just how little Biden is actually involved in making any real decisions — that he’s little other than a puppet president being controlled by staffers and the Easter Bunny.
