What a hassle it must be to run a multimillion-dollar grift and have to worry about things like financial transparency. That seems to be the thinking of Black Lives Matter cofounder Patrisse Cullors, anyway.

Cullors, the crony capitalist Marxist who left BLM leaderless when she “retired” in May 2021 amid some much-needed scrutiny of a recent home-buying spree, was on woke, white-guilt-ridden Vashon Island in Puget Sound to schlep her book, An Abolitionist’s Handbook. As it turns out, she was also there to tamp down concerns that have popped up even among sympathetic leftists who are scratching their heads about all those mansions she and her friends have been buying.

As the Washington Examiner reports: “The embattled activist, who is facing renewed criticism following reports BLM Global Network Foundation, while under her control, purchased a $6 million Los Angeles mansion, said she gets triggered whenever she hears the term IRS Form 990, the document charities are required to file to the public every year disclosing their financial activities.”

“It is such a trip now to hear the term ‘990,’” she lamented. “I’m, like, ugh. It’s, like, triggering.”

Indeed, once she and her host acknowledged that the real problems in this world were the “white supremacist, capitalist, sexist systems” that still live within themselves, and, of course, “the right-wing media,” Cullors talked about her legal troubles, and the nerve of all those folks who want an accounting for the $90 million her organization hauled in from panicky, virtue-signaling corporate America in the wake of the George Floyd killing and 2020’s Long Hot Summer of BLM-inspired rioting.

The mob is social media,“ she said, "and the mob is being weaponized by the Right.”

Got that? The mob is on the Right, not the Left. And there’s plenty more stream-of-consciousness blame where that came from. Like this:

“There is a misinformation and disinformation effort to not just, um, challenge Black Lives Matter and the organization, but it’s an experiment. If they win, then it’s the next black-led organization, and then it’s the next black-led organization, and it’s the next black person who’s leading that. And so it’s so important that we pay attention to what’s happening. … They know what they’re doing, like, how to create the infighting, how to create the distrust. We have to stop it before they do it. We have to shut it down. We have to be showing up against it. … We are literally the experiment right now.”

That “experiment,” we suppose, has something to do with left-elite New York magazine, which recently exposed BLM’s October 2020 purchase of a $5.8 million mansion in Studio City, California. Cullors quickly denounced that act of journalism as a “racist and sexist” attack — even though it came from the Left, and even though its author, Sean Campbell, is an adjunct professor at the Columbia School of Journalism. And is black.

“The American public has been misled about the real state of race in this country,” writes columnist Douglas Murray. “A poll in 2020 asked Americans how many unarmed black men they think are killed by the police in America the previous year. More than a fifth of people who described themselves as ‘very liberal’ said they thought it was over 10,000 unarmed black people in America killed by police every year. Among self-described ‘liberals,’ around 40% said they thought that the figure was somewhere between 1,000 and 10,000. The actual figure was around 10.”

That’s the vicious and highly destructive lie Black Lives Matter helped perpetuate. And now Cullors is upset because folks want to know why she and her friends are buying all these mansions with other people’s money. “It’s because we’re powerful, because we are winning,” she said of these attacks. “It’s because we are threatening the establishment, we’re threatening white supremacy.”

As for the standard inconvenience of having to transparently account for how her charity spends all the cash it’s taken in, she says: “This doesn’t seem safe for us, this 990 structure — this nonprofit system structure. This is, like, deeply unsafe. This is being literally weaponized against us.”

Literally. As if the actual 990 tax form is being rolled up and used to swat Cullors on the wrist. Her counterargument thus seems to be: Black Lives Matter. Defund the Police. Our mansions are none of your racist business. And don’t you dare ask us to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Woe is Patrisse. And woe are the woke, white-guilted corporations that fell for these racial arsonists and their Marxist, money-grubbing, cop-hating con.
