The Patriot Post® · The Green Unmaking of the U.S. Military
Most people think the job of the U.S. military is to provide national security to those living within American borders and to protect vital U.S. national security interests abroad — all so that external threats aren’t knocking at our front door. As seen through the Biden administration’s hazy lens, however, most people would be wrong.
Let’s unpack this ideological conflict a little further. As a fundamental, unvarnished maxim, Job One of the U.S. military is to kill people and break things to keep Americans safe. That’s the job, at least, as far as the sane part of the U.S. is concerned. In a neo-liberal world, however, that’s all wrong: Job One is to save us all from that most hated of all enemies, “climate change.”
No, really.
But don’t take our word for it; neolib-in-chief Joe Biden said as much in his “Earth Day” address. Invoking once again the Left’s overworn, clichéd term “climate crisis,” Basement Joe channeled his inner Rahm Emmanuel, declaring, “[The ‘climate crisis’] is a genuine opportunity, an opportunity to do things we wanted to do and only now become so apparent.” Well, sure — after all, every leftist agenda item must be underpinned by a crisis or the federal government can’t run roughshod over your fundamental rights!
Beyond the obvious, two other observations are salient here: 1) Of course this is a “genuine opportunity” — that’s what a “crisis” is. 2) The only reason this “opportunity” has “become so apparent” is that the neolibs have realized that they must strike while the iron is hot. In other words, absent a “crisis,” no justification (read: power) to create coercive “laws” exists.
We’ve alluded to this type of lunacy in the past: radicalism generally, “transgender” training, and “white extremist” hunting. This latest iteration of leftfoonery (pretty sure it’s a real word) is nothing new.
Even so, telegraphing to Congress his intent to exploit this newfound “opportunity,” President Air Handshake told his preening acolytes: “You know, my pen’s ready. My pen’s ready to sign. I’m anxious to sign this. Get some of these bills to my desk.” His Royal-Ready-Pen also alluded to the finite window within which he and his handlers can still abuse this presidential power: “We have to move quickly.”
Punctuating his point, Biden added, “I really mean it.” And herein lies the rub: No one thinks he doesn’t mean it; the problem is that everyone knows he does mean it — at least to the extent he can put a coherent sentence together affirming his thoughts. Absent from any of his priorities, however, are any mention of national defense or protection of the American citizenry.
But why shouldn’t the Green agenda be forced down our military’s throat? After all, nothing else is going on, right? Well, let’s look: Inflation just hit a 40-year high, seemingly well on its way to a new all-time high. Supply chains are strained globally, with boots-on-the-ground impacts — such as food shortages and other lack of basic needs — manifesting themselves in spades across the span of average U.S. households and domestic markets. Fuel prices continue to rise not only because of inflation but, more directly, because Biden’s policies have severely curtailed U.S. oil and gas production to the point that we are once again a net energy importer — and a substantial one, at that.
Even more, beyond these basics, schools at every level from kindergarten through doctoral studies are indoctrinating our children in the leftist religions of wokeism, critical race theory, multiculturalism, climate crisis, and a host of other causes immaterial to a truly functioning society. And for the first time in U.S. history, life expectancies have fallen as a result of massive volumes of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids flooding illegal drug markets from China and other sources through routes in the open sieve that is our southern border with Mexico. Nothing to see here, folks — move along.
So what’s Uncle Joe’s plan to “help” our military? Here are his well-measured thoughts: “One of the things I’ve found out as the president of the United States is I get to spend a lot of that money.” Further underscoring this money-spending point, last month Biden announced his $5.8 trillion budget proposal for 2023, describing it as “one of the largest investments in our national security in history.” Here’s a helpful Neolib Rosetta Stone to unpack left-tard doublespeak: Whenever a neolib refers to an “investment,” he’s talking about taking money out of your family’s pocket and putting it into his, either directly or indirectly.
Validating this point, Biden advanced: “We’re going to start the process for every vehicle in the United States military, every vehicle is going to be climate-friendly — every vehicle. I mean it. We’re spending billions of dollars to do it.” Why such measures? Answer: “We put environmental justice at the center of what we do, addressing the disproportionate health, environmental, and economic impacts that have been borne primarily by communities of color, places too often left behind.”
So Biden’s ultimate answer for why he’s doing all this is, Because race. Sure. That makes perfect sense. Since this is a crisis, after all — one not at all related to race, incidentally — why not “race”? If none of that makes sense to you, it’s because none of it makes sense.
We’ll close with the one thing Biden said that did make a lot of sense to us: “This transition is going to matter.” Sadly, we couldn’t agree more.
