Top of the Fold

  • Newsom the “transphobe,” Oregon schools get more woke: California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom recently expressed outrage over the leaked U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and showed his solidarity with the abortion lobby, stating, “If men could get pregnant, this wouldn’t even be a conversation.” Newsom’s comment was quickly pilloried as a hypocritical stance regarding the Left’s woke “transgender” ideology. “Ummm. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but men have periods and men can get pregnant,” joked RedState editor Kira Davis. “I didn’t make the rules, I’m just reminding you of your own.” Former NFL player and pro-life activist Benjamin Watson weighed in: “It must be incredibly exhausting to be required to constantly remember which men can and which men can’t get pregnant.” Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw also got in on the act, posting, “Then how do you explain THIS,” with an arrow pointing to a “pregnant man” emoji. Newsom might want to look just up the coast to The Beaver State to see how far behind the woke train he has fallen. Coming in the 2022-23 school year, all K-12 public schools in Oregon will be required to provide feminine products and instructions for “how to use” in all bathrooms irrespective of gender so as to be in compliance with the state’s Menstrual Dignity Act. The legislation reads in part, “Importantly, [the Menstrual Dignity Act] affirms the right to menstrual dignity for transgender, intersex, nonbinary, and two spirit students by addressing the challenges that some students have managing menstruation while minimizing negative attention that could put them at risk of harm and navigating experiences of gender dysphoria during menstruation.” Maybe remedial science class is in order.

  • Fox News misrepresents court-packing support while Dem pollster admits leak was political: A Fox News headline reads, “Americans say they are split on court packing after top Dems call for adding justices to Supreme Court.” The headline gives the impression that a credible, representatively sampled poll was taken. Not even close. What did happen — a small group of passersby in Harvard Square in Boston were asked their opinions — was more akin to Jay Leno’s humorous man-on-the-street interviews. Nothing says “representative snapshot of America” like Harvard Square. Meanwhile, Mark Penn, the chairman of Democrat polling outfit Harris Poll, voiced his insights on the SCOTUS leak: “[It was] clearly designed to affect both the court, and I think perhaps the midterms. I think that Democrats were rather lackluster going into these midterms, had kind of a feeling of growing defeat coming. This is going to provide an ability for Democrats to energize their base somewhat more than was going to happen without this. I think that that breathed new life into Democratic hopes for those midterm elections.”

  • New press secretary, same old game: On Thursday, the White House announced its replacement for Jen Psaki, who’s leaving for a hosting gig on MSNBC. Her name is Karine Jean-Pierre — well, we’re assuming that she’s a woman, though Peter Doocy may want to get clarification. What we do know is that Jean-Pierre checks off a couple of significant boxes when it comes to the Left’s woke identity hierarchy, as she is both black and a lesbian. Indeed, the first thing the Leftmedia seemingly noted about her is that she will be the first openly homosexual or black woman to serve in the role. More significant, however, are Jean-Pierre’s anti-Semitic views as an anti-Israel activist. Furthermore, she is directly connected to the Leftmedia; her “spouse” is a correspondent for CNN. Just more of the same for the most radical leftist administration in American history.
