  • Biden’s approval sinks to record low: It’s official: Joe Biden is the least popular president in modern U.S. history. Going all the way back to Harry Truman, Biden’s net average approval rating on his 490th day in office has sunk to a new low of 40.9%. Making matters worse for Biden, polling numbers indicate that he is now starting to lose Democrats. A whopping 70% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track — 90% of Republicans, 70% of independents, and 49% of Democrats. His disapproval rating now sits at 59%, just one percentage point shy of his highest approval rating of 60% when he first came into office. Biden has done a complete 180. Put simply, no president has been this unpopular in the modern era, and it’s happening going into a midterm election in which historically the party of the president fairs poorly. The question is this: Just how bad will the midterms go for Democrats attached to a lead weight like Biden?

  • U.S. birth rates up for first time in years: Since 2014, the number of births in the U.S. had been steadily decreasing year after year by an average of 2% — until 2021, when the trend reversed. Over 3.6 million children were born in 2021, representing a 1% increase over 2020. The rate of increase spanned women across all age groups above 25, while falling for women age 15 to 24. The most likely factor behind the turnaround was coming out of the COVID pandemic, with much of society returning to normal after social distancing and lockdowns. While the growth in the birth rate is a good thing, there are concerns regarding a growing shortage of obstetricians across the country and how this will impact healthcare.

  • Walmart cancels “Juneteenth” ice cream: Last year, Joe Biden established June 19 as a nationally recognized federal holiday dubbed “Juneteenth.” The holiday was first established and observed in Texas, the last state in the Confederacy where, on June 19, 1865, emancipated slaves finally attained their freedom. Well, like every other national holiday, businesses take the opportunity to capitalize and market their goods accordingly. In that spirit, Walmart recently rolled out a special “celebration edition” ice cream with labeling that read, “Share and celebrate African-American culture, emancipation and enduring hope.” As soon as the ice cream hit Walmart’s store freezers, leftist snowflakes had a meltdown. “We said we want the reparations we are owed. They gave us Representatives kneeling in Kente cloth, ice cream and party decorations,” one social media user moaned. Another wrote: “Corporate America will co-opt Juneteenth now that it’s a federal holiday like everything else. We don’t have reparations, laws protecting our voting rights, or stopping Police from killing us, but we have ice cream…” Rather than ignoring the social media wokescolds screaming about ice cream, Walmart pulled the product and issued an apology. Yet another lesson emphasizing that there is simply no pleasing the woke mob.
