The Patriot Post® · Desperate Biden Politicizes Abortion

The Supreme Court recently issued one of the most consequential decisions in a generation, upholding a Mississippi abortion law and in the process overturning Roe v. Wade. Neither side wasted much time in maneuvering, with many states working to pass legislation either banning or expanding abortion. Some had trigger laws that went into effect (or will soon) after Roe was overturned. Not to be left wandering around with nothing to do, Joe “Good Catholic” Biden issued an executive order Friday to jeopardize babies’ lives on behalf of pro-abortion zealots. And he told a particularly BIG Lie to justify doing it.
Biden’s order directs the Department of Health and Human Services to expand access to abortion and contraceptives, including an abortion pill. It also launches a public miseducation campaign. He called it an order “to protect reproductive rights of women in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s terrible, extreme, and, I think, so totally wrongheaded decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.”
Fortunately, the order is more style than substance, but Biden banged the drum for far more.
“[Dobbs] was not a decision driven by the Constitution,” he wrongly insisted. “What we’re witnessing wasn’t a constitutional judgment. It was an exercise in raw political power.”
In order to respond with raw political power, Biden demanded that voters elect more “pro-choice” politicians to Congress. The Court, he proclaimed, “practically dares the women of America to go to the ballot box and restore the very rights they’ve just taken away.” He quoted the majority opinion referencing the political power of women, and explained, “That’s another way of saying that you, the women of America, can determine the outcome of this issue.”

The Supreme Court absolutely and intentionally relinquished the power usurped by the Roe Court to decide abortion and restored that power to the people and their elected representatives. And Democrats are furious about it.
“The fastest way to restore Woe [sic],” Biden said in the Freudian slip of the century, “Roe is to pass a national law codifying Roe, which I will sign immediately upon its passage at my desk.”
That greatly oversteps federal authority, but that’s par for the course with Democrats, who also want to eliminate the Senate filibuster in order to pass abortion legislation with a bare majority instead of 60 votes. Codifying the “right” to abort babies will cost lives, but Backwards Biden insists it is Republican laws banning the barbaric practice “that will cost lives.”
Which brings us to Biden’s particularly BIG Lie:
Some of the states don’t allow for exceptions for rape or incest.
This isn’t some imagined horror. It’s already happening. Just last week, it was reported that a 10-year-old girl was a rape victim in Ohio — 10 years old — and she was forced to have to travel out of the state, to Indiana, to seek to terminate the presnency [pregnancy] and maybe save her life. That’s — the last part is my judgment. Ten years old. Ten years old. Raped, six weeks pregnant. Already traumatized. Was forced to travel to another state. Imagine being that little girl. Just — I’m serious — just imagine being that little girl. Ten years old.
First is the lie that the best way to deal with a pregnancy resulting from the crime of rape is capital punishment for the child, which compounds the trauma, grief, and guilt for the woman, or in this case a girl. Second, this story sounds a little too conveniently horrific.
Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist and pro-abortion advocate Dr. Caitlan Bernard is the sole source for the original Indianapolis Star story. But she was quoted by Politico two days after she allegedly found out about this girl, and yet she waited two more days to tell the Star instead. Then she went completely silent, other than responding by refusing to answer media questions even from friendly Leftmedia “fact-checkers.” No media outlet has been able to verify the story with Ohio child services, and no investigation of any such rape can be confirmed.
The lack of details is not evidence that the story is false, of course. Privacy laws protect healthcare and child services, so media outlets would have trouble getting an answer confirming or denying anything without a criminal report.
That hasn’t stopped a slew of headlines decrying the injustice to this pregnant 10-year-old as fact. Republican governors were even cornered to answer for it.
The facts don’t matter to Joe Biden’s narrative, though. All he needs is to pull the heartstrings of sympathetic voters by telling a horror story about a pregnant kid. A couple of Leftmedia “fact-checkers” gave perfunctory attention to the story, more or less acknowledging its massive holes, but incredibly The Washington Post’s “fact-checker” concluded, “With news reports around the globe and now a presidential imprimatur, however, the story has acquired the status of a ‘fact’ no matter its provenance.” In other words, it’s basically true because it’s been repeated so often. That’s practically the definition of the BIG Lie.
Meanwhile, Scranton Joe and other Democrats are free to repeat it for political gain with the general backing of their Leftmedia propagandists. Doggone it, they insist, abortion is a “right,” and facts won’t get in the way of that narrative.
Update: Our original, unedited story is above, but it turns out that there was a 10-year-old who was raped and sought an abortion. The tragedy of her rape is certainly more outrageous than any political games played by Biden and the Leftmedia. But the irony was compounded given that the alleged rapist is an illegal alien. We don’t know when this criminal entered the country, but Joe Biden has intentionally opened the border, which has exactly these consequences. Yet he’s mad only because the girl supposedly couldn’t get an abortion. Reprehensible.
