Whatever happened to Tony Bobulinski?

You remember him: He was the decorated former naval officer and Biden business partner who came forward just before the 2020 election as an eyewitness to connect all those dots from Hunter’s dirty dealings to Joe “Big Guy” Biden’s undeniable knowledge of them.

We covered Bobulinski’s damning allegations at the time, because we thought them to be both grave and credible. Indeed, the more we listened to this man, the more believable and unimpeachable he seemed.

Think about it: If a guy came forward with such devastating information about the Democrats’ candidate for president — the candidate whom they nominated to vanquish Donald Trump — don’t you think they’d have dug up some dirt on that guy within hours of him coming forward?

So, again, what happened to Tony Bobulinski? As it turns out, his allegations were buried, spiked, mothballed, crammed down the memory hole by every fair-minded American’s least favorite recently “retired” FBI agent. As the New York Post’s Miranda Devine reports:

Timothy Thibault, the FBI agent alleged to have interfered with an investigation into Hunter Biden, was assigned by the Washington Field Office as “point man” to manage whistleblower Tony Bobulinski, the first son’s former business partner, before the 2020 election — but he suppressed his damning revelations, sources say.

Bobulinski spent over five hours secretly being interviewed by the FBI on Oct. 23, 2020, about his inside knowledge of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s business deals with China. The previous day, he had revealed in a press conference that Joe Biden was the “Big Guy” due to get a 10% cut of a lucrative joint venture with Chinese energy firm CEFC, according to an email found on Hunter’s abandoned laptop.

Bobulinski gave the FBI the contents of three cellphones containing encrypted messages between Hunter and his business partners, along with emails and financial documents detailing the Biden family’s corrupt influence-peddling operation in foreign countries during Joe’s vice presidency.

As Devine further reports, Bobulinski and his lawyer were given Thibault’s cellphone number at the conclusion of the exhaustive interview and told that he, Thibault, would be their FBI “point man” thereafter.

Next steps? A follow-up interview? Bobulinski’s testimony before the Delaware grand jury currently investigating Hunter Biden? Nope, nope, and nope. Neither Bobulinski nor his lawyer were ever contacted again by Thibault or anyone else at the FBI.

So there you have it: FBI whistleblowers tell us that former FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Tim Thibault blocked off the main thoroughfare of the Hunter Biden investigation in October 2020 — namely, the laptop the bureau had been sitting on since December 2019. Thibault thus put not his finger on the scales of justice, but his shoulder. And in doing so, he’s done damage to the FBI that may be irreparable.

Thibault, then, is at the center of all manner of apparent FBI wrongdoing and egregious election interfering. As Congressman Jim Jordan tweeted: “According to brave whistleblowers, Timothy Thibault tried to shut down an avenue of the Hunter Biden investigation, cooked the books on ‘domestic violent extremism’ cases, hid intel on Hunter and the ‘Big Guy’ Joe Biden. Where does it stop?”

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, went further: “Unfortunately, Tony Bobulinski’s first-hand eyewitness testimony regarding President Biden’s knowledge of Hunter Biden’s compromising web of foreign financial entanglements, especially with the Chinese, was not only ignored by the media, but also by the FBI. The suppression and censoring of his testimony and Hunter’s influence peddling impacted the 2020 election to a far greater extent than anything Russia or China could have ever achieved.”

The senator is spot-on. And FBI Director Christopher Wray owes the American people some answers most ricky-tick. And we couldn’t care less if he has a plane to catch.

As the New York Post editorial board asks: “Was Thibault pushed out, or fired? Did he jump as the heat was getting too much? Is the FBI director trying to cover up? If the public and Wray’s own agents are to have any confidence at all in his leadership, the FBI chief needs to explain all of this.”
