Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a.k.a. AOC, was recently featured on the cover of GQ magazine with an exclusive interview. In that interview, AOC was asked if she had ambitions of becoming president. The response was: “My experience here has given me a front-row seat to how deeply and unconsciously, as well as consciously, so many people in this country hate women. And they hate women of color. … I admit to sometimes believing that I live in a country that would never let that happen.”

Let’s unpack this accusation. As a professional victim, she has benefited politically from the guilt and shame of people who take her at her word that the men she works with are racist and misogynistic. In the GQ interview, AOC displayed the level of victimhood she ascribes herself: “My everyday lived experience here is as a person who is despised. Imagine working a job and your bosses don’t like you — and the competing company is trying to kill you.”

If that was a reference to her death-defying day on January 6, 2021, that was a phony tall tale.

Her claim that America won’t make her president is also a convenient cop-out. If she loses, she can blame racism and toxic masculinity. On the other hand, it’s an abject denial of her actual problem — namely, herself and her inane politics.

What does AOC mean by “so many people in this country hate women”?

If she’s talking about the Left, she’s absolutely correct. Radical leftist policies point to the fact that they hate everyone except themselves. Frankly, the ideology AOC adheres to as a leftist jokester does not in any way serve the best interests of women.

Abortion, her most championed issue, serves only the interests of the male libido without commitment or love. She even admits that in her interview, saying: “For almost every woman that has gotten an abortion, there’s a man who has either been affected or liberated by that abortion too. In this moment it’s really only going to be the vulnerability of men, and men talking to other men, that gives us the greatest hope of shifting things the fastest, soonest.”

Abortion is also the preferred solution of cold-blooded employers who benefit financially from not having to pay for maternity leave. Abortion demands that women — who are designed for nurturing and family building — go against their natures. (No, the maternal instinct was not made up by men to control women, as a recent New York Times article suggests).

AOC’s other main stance is socialism. This is ironic because she loves to wear the trappings of capitalism. When attending the Met Gala, she infamously wore a designer dress saying “Tax the Rich.” AOC hurts women by being inconsistent in her ideology because she is embodying rank hypocrisy. As an avowed socialist, she hates our democratic republic. In the GQ interview, she talks about how limiting checks and balances are; she can’t bring about the changes she wants. She is speaking like a tyrant, not a patriot.

Transgenderism serves to make women more vulnerable in private spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms. Gender-confused men are allowed to commandeer women’s sports and take accolades away from women. Gender ideology now serves as an escape for many young girls going through puberty who are seeking an escape from over-sexualization and feeling like prey. They are told that perversion such as rough and aggressive sexual acts are normal and not at all repulsive. This is a stance of the Left, not conservatives.

AOC’s comment also comes from a misplaced adherence to third-wave feminism. This brand of feminism has led to the greatest setbacks for women. Third-wave feminism has told women they are just like men. In fact, striving toward being as male as possible is ideal.

AOC’s reasoning that Americans hate women is just as banal as the premise behind the TV series “She-Hulk.” Being a female superhero doesn’t glorify what women actually are or what they bring to the table. Instead, the show treats her like a male equivalent whose main opponents are white men. It is bad and lazy writing, but that’s what you get when you run out of original ideas and are paid to woke-ify everything.

Another example is Galadriel in “The Rings of Power” TV series. As Elon Musk commented: “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.” It is not a good or true representation of the beautiful and thoughtful books written by J.R.R. Tolkien, who wrote strong and interesting characters, both male and female. His treatment of the female characters in particular glorified their strengths and unique gifts while honoring their femininity. “The Rings of Power” seeks to make Galadriel a woman with male-glorified attributes while neglecting to honor the glory of what makes her womanly.

People commenting on AOC’s proclamation that she won’t become president because Americans hate women were quick to call out the lie. Jenna Ellis, a constitutional law attorney, said, “AOC won’t be president because most Americans hate stupidity.” Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) remarked, “I’m glad AOC knows what a woman actually is, but our problem is with her socialist agenda, not her gender.”

The absurdly long GQ interview was fodder for all sorts of hilarity and head-shaking. Frankly, people are tired of being sanctimoniously lectured by people like AOC who are blatant hypocrites.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shouldn’t be president because she, by her words and actions, hates America. It is not because America hates women.
