The mental illness of gender dysphoria is one that leaves its sufferers vulnerable to exploitation. People who exploit it do so for political gain, medical dependency, financial gain, and most notoriously sexual perversion. Gender dysphoria has driven its sufferers to varying extremes, starting with social transition and cross-sex hormones and ending with dangerous surgeries and suicide. These people are mentally ill, and yet those who adhere to radical gender theory continue to exploit and push the limits on gender identity to the point where everyone suffers.

Case in point is this very sad story out of Canada. A high school Manufacturing Technology (shop class) teacher donned a massive, obscene prosthetic bosom, complete with tight shirt and prominent nipples. This teacher, who now goes by Kayla Lemieux, began his “transition” from male to female a year ago and justifies this ensemble as “gender expression.”

Obviously, students have been posting photos of Lemieux online because the getup is outrageous and they are high school students. Naturally, these photos have gone viral.

Online reactions range from hilarity to disgust. The overarching theme though is that this teacher and the high school that is defending him have crossed the line. His attire is inappropriate, overtly grotesque, sexually exhibitionist, and should be indefensible. Women are pointing out that this prosthetic is fetishistic and making a mockery of women. Parents are pointing out how uncomfortable this inappropriate ensemble is making students that attend the school.

Oakville Trafalgar High School, where Lemieux works, is defending him. In an email to parents, it said: “We are aware of discussion on social media and in the media regarding Oakville Trafalgar High School. We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate to our community that we are committed to establishing and maintaining a safe, caring, inclusive, equitable and welcoming learning and working environment for all students and staff.”

Clearly, this teacher is mentally ill, and the school defending this behavior in the name of gender ideology is criminal. It exploits the vulnerability of children in the high school and it exploits the mental instability of Lemieux. It prompts the question: Will this happen in America?

The U.S. has already laid the groundwork for this sort of thing. Back in December 2020, a Christian funeral home in Michigan was forced to pay $250,000 in settlement to a former employee. This employee sued because he was fired when he refused to dress in appropriate attire for work. (i.e., he wore a dress). The funeral home argued that grieving families should be the focus, not an individual employee’s political statements. SCOTUS decided that it was an unlawful firing based on sexual discrimination according to Title VII.

The culture at large has fallen into the, er, booby trap of sexual identity as a civil rights issue. It is not a civil rights issue but a mental health issue, and exploiting it for power, sexual perversion, money, or medical prowess preys not only on the sufferer — as in this Canada case — but on the vulnerable high school children as well.
