“We’re fighting the wrong battle!” Many Patriots who read The Patriot Post will identify with this comment. Since the end of WWII, whenever we became engaged in a military conflict, we seemed to be fighting the new war using tactics from the last one.

Vietnam happened to be the conflict of my generation. As a Marine, our leadership tried its best to prepare us for this “insurgency” style of fighting. The communists were very good at it. Trying to fight the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese on their own terms was costly in lives. A very effective strategy the Marine Corps developed was to place Marines in the villages. Training and fighting alongside them worked, until we gave up and went home.

For over a thousand years, China — a bigger, more powerful country — would invade Vietnam, and the Vietnamese would flee to the jungles and conduct guerrilla warfare. Time and time again, the insurgency would win the day. Iraq and Afghanistan are the most recent examples of how this works. While Iraq still has a measure of independence, 20 years of fighting in Afghanistan was traded away by Biden’s surrender.

The same thing is happening here in America with the culture war. Patriotic Americans, whether you’re a Christian or conservative (hopefully both!), have been fighting the wrong battle. Republicans are guilty of playing by the rules, while progressives are moving from counter-insurgency to all-out warfare. Conservatives don’t seem to realize we’re losing because we’re fighting the wrong battle.

I’ve been amazed by how quickly the far Left has moved from guerrilla tactics to outright open warfare on American values. Deeply entrenched Republican leaders like Mitch McConnell seem to have accepted the loss of the Senate in the upcoming elections because they’re not his kind of candidates. He’s happy with the status quo because he thinks it will all work out in the end.

That’s the strategy the South Vietnamese government had for a good portion of the war. If we leave the enemy alone, they’ll leave us alone. It cost them their freedom. There are far more Americans who love this country than those who want to destroy it from within. They count on us to continue to ignore how critical our current situation really is. If we will just be nice, they will come around sooner than later. That ain’t gonna happen!

We have always had more America-loving Patriots than far-left progressives. Somehow, progressives have convinced us it’s no use standing against them; we lose every time. That’s a LIE! We lose if we never show up on the battlefield. Right now, the battlefield is the voting booth.

For nearly two decades, far too many of us, especially Christians, have not exercised that privilege to vote. We’ve listened to the lies of the enemy of our soul that it won’t make a difference. This is every bit a spiritual battle as it is a political one. If we believe the lie, we will lose again. But if we suit up and show up, we will win every time.

If you’re okay with the moral rot and corruption in government, education, media, Hollywood, and Big Tech, stay home. If you’re ready to reclaim our freedoms that have been dearly paid for, get out and vote!

Something to think about!
