The Patriot Post® · Ted Cruz Stirs Things Up on 'The View'

Ted Cruz has a book to sell, and his political party has a crucial midterm election to win, so it’s not surprising that the Texas senator found his way to ABC’s “The View” yesterday, there to suffer the slings and arrows of his ill-informed leftist hosts.

Nor is it surprising that he came prepared. More on that in a moment.

The show, though, almost didn’t go on, as three protesters interrupted the segment while Cruz began to answer a question about inflation.

One of the protesters shouted “F**k you!” at Cruz, which the network dutifully edited out, while others screamed at the show’s hosts to cover an issue that not even the Democrats are paying attention to these days: the climate.

“Cover climate now! Cover climate now!” they shrieked. Clearly, this wasn’t Cruz’s first rodeo. While his hosts scrambled to regain control, their guest mostly chuckled. We’re sure the spectacle impressed the dozens of independent women who occasionally watch the show — especially the F-bombs.

And the Democrats wonder why they’re about to get shellacked.

Cruz’s best moment came when cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, the show’s token “conservative,” tried to grill him about the January 6 Capitol Hill riot and whether he thought Joe Biden was legitimately elected. Cruz confirmed the obviosity that Biden was indeed the president while sidestepping the “legitimately elected” part. Then he gave his hosts and their audience the other side of the story about stolen elections — namely, that Democrats have challenged the legitimacy of every Republican presidential victory this century:

There are a lot of folks in the media that try to, anytime a Republican is in front of a TV camera, try to say, “The election was fair and square and legitimate.” You know who y'all don’t do that to? You don’t do it to Hillary Clinton who stood up and said, “Trump stole the election.” You don’t do it to Stacey Abrams who said the election was stolen. They sat here and said it was illegitimate and you guys were fine with it.

(As if to make Cruz’s point for him, Clinton just days ago warned, “Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election.”)

Cohost Whoopi Goldberg then turned the topic to January 6, saying that Democrats “don’t storm” when they challenge elections. “We don’t do that,” she insisted.

To which Cruz replied: “Whoopi, did I miss an entire year of antifa riots where cities across this country were burning and police cars were being fired upon?”

Goldberg interrupted, saying, “I don’t know what an antifa riot is.” To which Cruz replied: “Your position is the Left doesn’t engage in violence. Really?”

Here we might have to cut Goldberg some slack because, as a member of the mainstream media, she doesn’t tend to venture out of her left-wing bubble. She can’t be expected to know anything about events that her side whitewashes or ignores altogether.

Perhaps, though, the senator could’ve jogged her memory by including Black Lives Matter in his rioting charge. And perhaps he could’ve mentioned The Riot That No One Talks About — namely, the inaugural riot of January 20, 2017, when, during Donald Trump’s inauguration, leftists did what Whoopi said they don’t do.

As CNN reported a month after the riot, 214 people were indicted on felony rioting charges, which carry a maximum sentence of 10 years and a fine of up to $25,000. This seemed altogether appropriate for the antifa thugs who “smashed storefronts and bus stops, hammered out the windows of a limousine, and eventually launched rocks at a phalanx of police.” Six cops were injured that day, and 230 rioters were arrested.

But more than two years later, on July 6, 2018, the Associated Press reported that the government had dropped the charges against all inauguration protesters. So much for the Left not storming, Whoopi. And so much for justice being done without regard to one’s political affiliation.

If only Senator Cruz had read The Patriot Post, he could’ve even better educated the Democrat masses.
