Our local ABC affiliate in Denver echoed the line about the zip ties and how they were found at the “January 6 insurrection.” There was no mention of the man (again from the Bay Area) who was arrested outside Justice Kavanaugh’s residence carrying, among other things, zip ties. I guess left-wingers intent on attacking conservatives with zip ties don’t count. As for Biden not doing what he can to calm tensions, he learned well from his Democrat predecessor. Just remember what Obama did following the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases. He did all he could to stir up tensions, not calm them. —Colorado

How dare the peasants notice there are certain strange details to the Pelosi story! Anyone who questions the official state narrative is an election denier, a right-wing extremist, a Putin pawn, and a racist. Methinks the Democrat Reich doth protest too much. —Illinois

This certainly sounds like the greenhouse gas they’ve been warning us about. But like carbon dioxide, it won’t be generating much of any warming on the electorate. Democrats simply can’t blame the economic downturn and inflation on the Republicans given that Democrats have been the ones at the levers of power. All they have is abortion and the January 6 “insurrection.” The states that want abortion already have it, and those that don’t aren’t about to change. Despite the hype, January 6 is not an issue anyone cares about, ranking quite far down the list of meaningful issues. —Washington

I hope this election will be another 1994. I lived in Syracuse and worked in that election, and the polls said no one could beat Mario Cuomo for governor. Upstate citizens all stuck together and for governor we elected Pataki, an obscure mayor of a city most people could not even locate on a map: Poughkepsie. Come on, upstaters, do it one more time! How does socialism take over countries? Intellectuals jealous of the wealth created by people they consider intellectually inferior simply mold poor people into armies to wage civil war against wealth creators. After the socialists win, they eliminate the wealth creators, leading society into economic ruin. It’s really quite simple: Capitalists lead the willing, hoping to better themselves; socialists lead the destitute, who place their hopes in the socialist dictators. —California

Big corporations don’t pay taxes? Truthfully, they earn the money to pay the employees and act as agents for the government. They pay property taxes on their buildings. They pay half the SSI taxes and collect and forward the employees’ half to the SSA. Big corporations create the bulk of the high-paying jobs that keep wasteful government spending possible. How about we all take a look at the greedy taxman to see where all these trillions of our dollars are being spent? How about government show some responsibility with the more than fair share we all pay to it? —Alaska

All of this gender turmoil has one common denominator: destruction of the family unit. In order to transform a nation into Marxism/communism, one must destroy the nuclear family, rid parents of all control, and make all persons subjects of and dependent upon the state. Leftists have already had great success to this end with the black population, using welfare ghettos as the means of entrapment. —Pennsylvania

I found this article on EVs informative but often wonder why the government seems so locked into battery technology. Why not provide money to American entrepreneurs who might have the next great idea instead — for example, hydrogen fuel cells? Secondly, making Americans poorer means less inventions, less innovations, and less problem-solving, which have been America’s gifts to the world in areas like engineering, communications, computers, health … the list goes on. —Pennsylvania
