Cross-Examination

  • Pelosi attack update: Questions regarding how a crazed leftist perpetrator was able to break into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s residence in San Francisco and attack her husband Paul are slowly being answered, though those answers are painting a rather incompetent picture of the U.S. Capitol Police. It is now known that the Capitol Police had a live security camera feed of Pelosi’s house, but nobody was monitoring it during the break-in. Furthermore, no alarm went off when the perpetrator broke a glass door at the back of the house to gain entry. The cameras were placed around Pelosi’s San Francisco residence eight years ago, and for months after the January 6 Capitol riot the SFPD maintained a police cruiser outside her residence 24 hours a day. However, when Nancy Pelosi leaves for Washington, DC, the security detail monitoring her home evidently takes a break. When asked if the 911 call and police body camera footage will be released to the public, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins stated flatly, “No.” She added, “Revealing that evidence through the media is not appropriate.” The Washington Post also went to bat for Jenkins by claiming that requesting the video “is mostly a way to extend the conspiracy theory.” When Jenkins was asked if she wanted to share information on the suspect’s criminal history, she responded, “No, not at this time, and quite frankly it’s nothing that would have led anyone to believe that he was capable of what he ultimately did.”

  • Feds raise interest rate another .75% to fight Bidenflation: On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve, as was expected, raised the benchmark interest rate another three-quarters of a percent in its ongoing effort to rein in sky-high inflation. So far this year, the Fed has raised interest rates a total of 4%, marking the highest annual rate increase since before the 2008 financial crisis. Yet even with the threat of a looming recession, the Fed continued to hint at implementing future rate hikes: “The Committee anticipates that ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate in order to attain a stance of monetary policy that is sufficiently restrictive to return inflation to 2 percent over time." The current annual inflation rate is sitting at 8.2%, increasing last month by 0.4% as prices for groceries to gas to housing continue to climb.

  • Leftists lament that voter ID laws target "transgenders”: The Democrat political playbook has long been established upon grievance politics. Furthermore, strong voter integrity laws that would limit the ability of election cheating have served as an opportunity for Democrats to level vacuous claims of “voter suppression.” The biggest hurdle for being able to rig elections happens to be voter ID laws, which is why Democrats disingenuously decry them as “racist.” Thankfully, a large majority of Americans reject this claim. But Democrats can’t let their voter ID bogeyman go, so they have now framed voter ID laws as “transphobic.” NBC News recently ran a story asserting, “Over 200,000 trans people could face voting restrictions because of state ID laws.” (Not did; could.) The issue that NBC is wringing its hands over is the fact that in the vast majority of states, an individual’s biological sex is the identifier on his or her official state ID such as a driver’s license. That a person who self-identifies as “transgender” would be required to show a state ID that doesn’t comport with his or her declared gender identity is effectively voter suppression, according to NBC. The desire to defy biological reality is not a valid excuse to eliminate voter ID laws. If one were so traumatized by the thought of being outed as “transgender” at a polling station, then why not cast a mail-in ballot? It seems to be the hip thing now anyway.
