The Patriot Post® · Google Embraces Racism for 'Social Justice'
That old adage about not judging a book by its cover is anathema to the woke Left. Indeed, the only thing that seems to matter to the Left is what someone looks like — well, and whether they fall in line with leftist ideology. By definition, racism is prejudice of the mind and heart against other races, though the Left rejects that definition in favor of “whiteness equals racist.” Thus, when it comes to racism, it fights fire with fire. Or, rather, it promotes racism to combat racism as supposedly the only effective path. Google is the latest offender.
Before we get to that, we have noted several instances over the years of this reverse racism to end racism gambit at play. Buzz terms like “white privilege,” “microaggressions,” and “systemic racism” are thrown around so frequently that it’s assumed these dubious and inherently problematic concepts are unquestionable reality. Indeed, to question them is to effectively expose oneself as a dyed-in-the-wool white supremacist and bigoted Nazi.
The great irony is that history shows us that those most obsessed with seeing race everywhere just happen to be the biggest actual racists. When one is attacking the culturally colorblind ideal for a post-racist society envisioned by prominent leaders of the Civil Rights era, that should be a big red flag.
When universities are actively advocating for racially segregated dorms and racially distinct “safe spaces,” all in the name of being anti-racist, such blatant racialism should raise objections and cries of racism. But to the woke, racism is not racist if it furthers their neo-Marxist “equity” agenda.
Now, to Google. The Big Tech giant recently took yet another step in promoting woke racism. Google announced that it will include new icons on its search page that will indicate whether or not a business is black-owned. So, like those restrooms and water fountains of the Jim Crow era, Google will mark businesses by their owners’ race so as to help with its woke “Buy Black” campaign.
Rather than view people of all races first and most importantly through our shared humanity, Google wants everyone to see race as the most significant aspect of a person’s identity. How does this do anything to end racism? Obviously, it doesn’t; indeed, all it does is breed more racism across all racial demographics within America.
Furthermore, how does singling out a certain group based solely on its race do anything toward moving Americans of all racial backgrounds toward a more cohesive and unified nation? Obviously, it doesn’t, and it’s not intended to. Grievance politics, which is the woke Left’s bread and butter, needs division in order to gain power. If people really do stop focusing on being offended and aggrieved by an “other” group, then true conversations and true understandings can actually be developed.
All Google is doing with these race-based icons is pushing a false narrative of modern-day minority oppression and systemic racism. Google is violating its old “don’t be evil” motto by promoting racism.
