Monday: Below the Fold

House sustains Biden ESG veto, DOD racist “reassigned,” now they’re rewriting Agatha Christie, and more.

Cross-Examination

  • House sustains Biden ESG veto: Last week, Joe Biden vetoed Republican-led bipartisan legislation that sought to counter Biden’s previous executive order directing the Labor Department to include environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in investment and shareholder decisions. After passing both chambers of Congress, Biden infamously for the first time since taking office vetoed the legislation. The House on Thursday failed to override that veto, jeopardizing the retirement investments of millions of Americans, as corrupt leftist political considerations will increasingly be used as a measure for determining where investments are placed.

  • Parents Bill of Rights passes House, DOA in Senate: On Friday, the House passed the Parents Bill of Rights, legislation that aims to protect the right of parents to have a strong say in their children’s education. The bill passed the House 213-208 along strict party lines, with not a single Democrat voting in favor. Now it’s headed to the Democrat-controlled Senate, where it is essentially dead on arrival. Democrats have made clear that they are siding with the teachers unions against parents. Democrats are effectively sending the message that teachers care for and love students more than their own parents do because parents for the most part are opposed to the injection of the socially, culturally, and individually destructive woke ideology within the schools. While this legislation may be dead in the Senate, it is far from a dead issue politically, with Republicans — and most voters — seeing parental rights as a primary policy issue.

  • DOD racist “reassigned”: The woke racist activist who had been diversity, equity, and inclusion chief for the Department of Defense Education Activity, Kelisa Wing, has been “reassigned” following a series of revelations including social media posts wherein she expressed blatantly anti-white prejudice. An example of her racism that quickly became fodder for Republican lawmakers was a post in which she labeled white coworkers as “Karens” and lambasted them for having the “CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too.” However, rather than firing Wing or even disciplining her for being living proof that black people can indeed be racist too, the Pentagon effectively brushed the problem aside. Wing has been “reassigned to another position that does not include diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Evidently, anti-white racism is perfectly acceptable within Joe Biden’s DOD.

  • “Transgender” sports ban: In a big win for female athletes, World Athletics, which governs international sports competitions, recently announced that it is barring “transgender” athletes in women’s sports if the biological male in question “transitioned” after puberty. With the problem of males identifying as women entering and dominating women’s sports only growing, the global athletics body apparently could no longer hold to the fiction of males competing as females being fair. World Athletics President Lord Sebastian Coe stated, “Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations.” Except the biological reality on this was never in question; it was pandering to a fringe and blatantly false narrative that made such an easy and sensible decision “difficult.”

  • Trump vs. Bragg: Following Donald Trump’s recent warning of his imminent arrest at the direction of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, an arrest that subsequently did not transpire, Trump has gone on the proverbial war path against Bragg. In several follow-up posts, Trump warned of “potential death and destruction” should he face “false charges,” and it “could be catastrophic for our Country.” Trump then appeared to refer to Bragg as a “degenerate psychopath that truly hates the USA!” This was one among several of Trump’s posts attacking Bragg, and even Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, sought to distance himself from them, stating, “I’m not his social media consultant.”

  • Now they’re rewriting Agatha Christie: It is a feature of the woke Left to not only rewrite the historical record regarding “injustices” of the past as justification for their calls for massive societal change today, but also to rewrite past beloved works of literature to ensure they too conform to the new woke “morality.” Not long ago, it was Roald Dahl. Now, the woke language police have yet another popular author’s work in their crosshairs — the world’s most famous murder mystery novelist, Agatha Christie. “Sensitivity readers” have been combing through Christie’s works in order to “correct” the writer’s themes, language, or depictions of people and groups that today’s woke police find “problematic.” Evidently, these Orwellians can’t embrace the notion of freedom of choice. It is seemingly becoming a novel idea that if one doesn’t appreciate a certain writer’s works, one can chose not to read them.
