Many of us have family members and/or friends now serving in our Armed Forces. We’ve witnessed firsthand their courage, sacrifice, and unfailing sense of duty, both honoring their oaths “to support and defend” and protecting our nation.

In those ways and more, the men and women who serve in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marines, and Coast Guard have a lot in common with members of the National Rifle Association of America.

I am a lifetime member of the NRA, and among those great organizations supporting the Second Amendment, no single group has done more to protect “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.” The Second Amendment, wrote Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, is “the palladium of the liberties of a republic.” All other rights are protected by the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Many military servicemen and women are longtime hunters, gun collectors, and target shooters. You believe strongly in our God-given right to self-defense. You share a love of freedom that few Americans can match. But too often these days it’s hard to make ends meet and still be able to join the organizations that support your fundamental rights.

Through the generosity of a few NRA members, they are now offering thousands of first-year NRA memberships, free of charge, to our nation’s active-duty service personnel.

Please let your family and friends know that service members stationed at home and abroad can sign up for their free membership here: NRA ActiveDuty.

In addition to full membership and an NRA magazine of their choice, they’ll receive vital communications throughout the year in order to take part in actively promoting and defending the Second Amendment, at a time when our rights are under attack by Joe Biden and his leftist cadres.

I thank our friends with the NRA for offering our nation’s military Patriots free membership. We are proud to count so many servicemen and women among our Patriot Post ranks.
