Re: In Brief: The Heroes of the Nashville School Shooting

“To Protect and Serve.” Law enforcement is a difficult career, but these men and women who have chosen this occupation have a higher calling: To save lives and, in cases warranted, to give one’s life. Salute to those who serve. —Florida

Re: The White House Dodge on Gun Confiscation

I’m tired of people limiting the “assault weapon” label to the AR-15. Every gun can be an assault weapon, just as every knife could be an assault weapon. If the government wants to ban guns, lead by example by having your security guards put down their weapons first, and then try to overturn the Second Amendment. It won’t happen. Spend the money you’re sending overseas on mental health hospitals so those who act out with weapons can get help. —Michigan

The answer is really pretty simple: If it is proven you have used a firearm to intentionally commit a crime, and death is a result, your life is forfeited. No appeal. No bail. No parole. You kill, you die. New laws are not needed — enforcement, without favoritism, is the only deterrent. —Texas

Re: ‘Trans Day of Vengeance’ Canceled

It is indeed a cult of the mentally ill/delusional. It is a cult of ME, ME, LOOK AT ME and AFFIRM ME, because deep down they know they’re embracing something that is a fantasy and they’re insecure about it. And if you don’t, I will FORCE you do so! Rejecting the infinite value they already possess by being created in God’s image, they’ve bought the lie and set themselves up as gods of their own selves, only to find that they are in fact not in control of who they wish they were. It’s also frustrating to be a god who can’t get the universe to bend the knee to your wishes. —Virginia

I’ve adjusted my “gay/lesbian” views in an attempt to be open-minded and accepting of others’ free choices — but it never seemed to be enough. Approval was required. Support of their sexual views was required. Silence about my own views was required — but not thiers. I was, however, getting along. We agreed about “some people were born that way,” pedophilia being wrong, monogamy, gays possibly being good adoptive parents and citizens, etc. Then more letters were added to the LGB — and I was back in the “closed-minded bigot” box. We all are. There really isn’t a limit, it seems. —Georgia

I’ve grown uber-weary of all this crap about “transgenderism.” I remind you all that the first duty of any organism/system is survival. Transgenderism is the guaranteed extinction of the human species. Fancy verbiage does not alter physical fact. Men cannot get pregnant, and lesbianism cannot induce gestation.
There was a religious sect, back many years ago, that practiced total and complete abstinence.
It died out. —Texas

I pray for these lost souls. When your ego is so fragile that you believe people who just want to go about their own business are in some way hurting you, what is going on? Pray without end for sanity. —Wisconsin

Re: The Navy’s Climate Change Agenda

I’m always troubled by the talk about the military going “green.” We’re having enough trouble building out the electrical grid here and we own all the land. What hostile countries will let us put charging stations on their land, knowing we want to harm them? I wouldn’t want to be the captain of the ship that is charging. (How long would that take?) I think the Chinese would be able to find my ship quite quickly. Same as on land charging a tank. Imagine being second in line. Perhaps recruitment is down because people are thinking about these same challenges. Either that or they don’t want to be on the ship that has Admiral Rachel Levine as its senior officer. —Utah

Re: A Tribute to the Nine Soldiers Killed in Kentucky

I understand why we must avoid overuse of “hero.” But we must never fail to honor real risk and sacrifice of service members, police, firefighters, and rescue workers. Every night of peaceful sleep and every sunrise, we owe a prayer of gratitude to these noble warriors, honorable servants, and valiant strangers. When you see them, thank them. When you don’t see them, thank God for them. Pray for the families and fellow soldiers of those who gave their all. Salute! —Missouri

As a combat veteran helicopter pilot, my heart and prayers are being lifted up for the military servicemen who have died. The military, being what it is, is an arena of constant threats of accidental death. The mission is not to die in training, but accidents happen due to mechanical failure or, in this case, possible pilot failure. Nighttime exercises are particularly dangerous. May God comfort you in your loss and help you heal knowing that your loved ones were doing what they volunteered to do: become trained defenders of our Republic, Constitution, and way of life. They have the esteem of all freedom-loving Americans. Salute! —Florida
