This past week, singer Lizzo declared that she is the beauty standard. Her exact words were: “I just finished showering and doing my little routine, and you know what I realized? I am f**king gorgeous. I am the beauty standard. Catch up, b*tch!”

Lizzo, who is extremely overweight, got some pushback from her audience, which again sparked the “body positivity” conversation.

With body positivity, there is a sliver of good and a giant pie of bad. The only good aspect of body positivity is appreciating the body God gave you. The giant bad takes that appreciation to the level of self-worship. Lizzo illustrates this perfectly by saying: “I’m sorry that my perfect face & rockin’ body offends you… I can’t help that I’m God’s favorite.”

Lizzo has started the conversation again, therefore people have a right to talk about her perspective. The ideology backing her comments is the issue at hand in this conversation, not her body — though using it as a personal shield to deflect negative comments through emotional manipulation has been pretty useful in the past.

“Body positivity” has come to mean loving your body but not taking care of it. It is the same fallacious thinking as transgenderism. Transgenderism and its equally unjustifiable sister, trans-slenderism (or, in their lingo, “body positivity”), view the body as something they can claim to love but also feel entitled to trash. That destruction is especially justifiable if what they’re trashing it with makes them happy.

Lizzo desperately tries to convince herself and her audience of her “truth.” She and those who adhere to the body positivity movement conflate “beauty” with “acceptance of choices” and expect nothing less from their followers, family, and friends. In their minds, you can’t disagree with them and still love them. This is similar to transgenderism in that respect. Celebrate and capitulate, you fat-o-phobe.

This idea of forcing others to accept your choices regardless of the ramifications comes in many forms. Some trans-slenders have declared that losing weight intentionally is fatphobic. By this logic, the act of losing weight if done unintentionally is totally fine, but the whole wanting to do the healthy thing is bad news, bigot.

Another example of this raging narcissism in the trans-slender movement is the debate surrounding airplane seating. One internet influencer has started demanding that airlines provide enough free seats for plus-sized passengers to sit in comfortably. The influencer also stipulated that they should be refunded for the extra seats they are forced to buy due to their size. She has even started a petition.

Yes, airline seats are too close together, especially in economy; yes, it is uncomfortable for both parties if one person is squeezing their neighbor into a confining position; and yes, it is a pain to have to pay for two seats if you cannot fit into one. However, being of a size that requires the purchase of multiple seats is often a choice. That choice involves food, exercise, lifestyle, habits, and other factors that are within a person’s control. The airline is not responsible for that individual’s choices.

It really all goes back to the secular relativist worldview that starts with the premise that there is no God, therefore beauty standards are a social construct. If there is no God, trans-slenders can make the beauty standard in their own image and disregard those pesky words of caution in the Bible that name gluttony as a deadly sin.

When you start from a premise that sets you on the throne of creation instead of the Creator, it leads you down a path of lies, death, and destruction. In the case of trans-slenderism, it’s not like people haven’t tried to warn them that the physical consequences are dire.

Much like skin color, body shape is predetermined genetically. However, in the case of weight, there is a level of control that a person has. What really is at the heart of the “body positivity” debate is a disagreement between whether or not it is right and good to take care of and steward the body you have been given. Granted, it is not as easy for some people as others, and there is a lot of culpability in how we as a nation buy, make, and consume food. However, that is a discussion for another time.

As an aspect of the woke agenda, trans-slenderism is the soft anarchy of self-gratification. They are happy talking and eating/drinking themselves into early graves, but in the end, the only ones they have to blame are themselves.
