Hanoi Jane Is at It Again

The 85-year-old traitor can’t seem to stop hating her country and blaming white men for all that ails us.

After all these years, and all this ostensible age-accumulated wisdom, you’d think Hanoi Jane Fonda would want to lay low on Memorial Day weekend.

You’d think. And you’d be wrong.

It could’ve been worse, we suppose. Because on this most somber of holiday weekends — a weekend when we honor and mourn those of our fellow Americans who died in war so that the rest of us might live in peace — she didn’t side with the enemy against our noble and selfless warriors in Vietnam. Instead, she assailed all racist, climate-ravaging white men generally.

Fonda seems to be at her worst when she’s on foreign turf. Such was the case this weekend, when she blamed whitey for imperfect weather patterns the global “climate” crisis during her remarks at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Perhaps Fonda, 85, assumed her remarks wouldn’t make it back across the pond, or perhaps she’s just that vile. “This is serious,” she said. “We’ve got about seven, eight years to cut ourselves in half of what we use of fossil fuels, and unfortunately, the people that have the least responsibility for it are hit the hardest … people on islands, poor people of color. It is a tragedy that we have to absolutely stop. We have to arrest and jail those men — they’re all men.”

It gets better: “It’s good for us all to realize there would be no climate crisis if there was no racism. There would be no climate crisis if there was no patriarchy. A mindset that sees things in a hierarchical way. White men are the things that matter and then everything else [is] at the bottom.”

Damn those white men there at the top. Especially those crackers in China and India. But we think she needs a new schtick, given that she said much the same thing back in January: “Well, you know, you can take anything — sexism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, whatever, the war,” she said on a hard-hitting talk show, “and if you really get into it and study it and learn about it and the history of it and everything’s connected. There’d be no climate crisis if it wasn’t for racism.”

One wonders who she’ll blame this summer when the energy blackouts hit. As we noted last week, the more that Joe Biden’s green dream is implemented, the more of an “elevated risk” there’ll be for Americans all across the country. But this is what we get when we let the greenies shrink our reliable fossil fuel base in favor of unreliable “renewable” energy sources.

As for Fonda, perhaps she’ll one day see the error of her race-baiting ways. After all, she did acknowledge in 2005 that her infamous photo op with that North Vietnamese anti-aircraft battery in 1972 — while American men were fighting and dying and being tortured there — was “the largest lapse of judgment that I can even imagine.”

Speaking of herself in the third person, as narcissistic leftists are wont to do, Hanoi Jane told CBS’s Lesley Stahl, “The image of Jane Fonda … sitting on an enemy aircraft gun was a betrayal.”

You’re telling us. And better 33 years late than never, right?
