In what amounts to an elitist chastisement for failing to adhere to the inherently hypocritical rule of “Do as we say, not as we do,” NBC News recently published an article “exposing” conservative media pundit Matt Walsh for … daring to engage in investigative journalism. The article alleges that Walsh used underhanded tactics to get three people to agree to interviews in his “anti-trans” documentary “What Is a Woman?”

As conservatives have repeatedly observed, the mainstream media has long had a culturally and politically leftist bias, a bias virtually every outlet has denied. However, NBC exposes its own leftist bias yet again in its article. It has completely and unquestioningly embraced the bogus notion of “transgenderism” as a legitimate and genuine state of human existence despite the complete lack of any credible scientific evidence supporting such a view. Acceptance of that view is the only option to avoid being labeled a “hater.”

And it is this embrace and defense of “transgenderism” that explains the reason NBC’s article attacking Walsh was published in the first place. While played up as a piece of “investigative” journalism, NBC’s real aim is a propaganda hit piece against Walsh, who dared to expose the ridiculous and radical nature of the “transgender” cult with a popular documentary.

After first mocking the documentary’s 2022 debut “to little fanfare,” NBC then expresses alarm: “The movie has since marked more than 187 million views on Twitter alone and been endlessly memed and recycled among conservatives, making it another major flashpoint in a nationwide conflict over transgender rights that’s also playing out in state legislatures, public libraries and courthouses.” The documentary’s popularity is really only relevant if it’s presenting false information or blatantly misrepresenting the views of those interviewed. But that’s not even what NBC objects to.

In attempting to discredit Walsh and his documentary, the article claims that three individuals who were contacted and subsequently agreed to be interviewed did so under false pretenses. They thought the documentary would be promoting “transgenderism,” not be critical of it. Despite their assumptions being wrong, none of those objecting are claiming that Walsh inaccurately presented their comments.

By elevating an objection to Walsh’s supposedly underhanded methodology for getting interviews, the article insinuates the popular documentary has accuracy issues without actually proving any. In a nutshell, NBC found three people who complained that they felt they were deceived into giving interviews where they shared their honest views and opinions, which unintentionally served to expose the radical nature of the “transgender” cult. Two of them now regret doing the interviews solely due to the popularity of “What Is a Woman?”

Or to put it another way, these radical “transgender” cultists are complaining that they were exposed as radical “transgender” cultists.

But were these individuals deceived? While the article highlights an email from a member of Walsh’s team requesting an interview, the topic of the interview was clearly presented, even if Walsh’s objection to “transgenderism” wasn’t communicated.

What NBC fails to note is how the Left has grown increasingly fond of censorship, especially when it comes to the “wrong” views about the sexual revolution. Leftists would far rather silence conservatives than even think about sitting down to talk with them. How else was Walsh supposed to secure these interviews?

Truth be told, NBC’s objection over deceitful methodology rings hollow given NBC’s own history. Back in the early 2000s, NBC’s news magazine program “Dateline NBC” ran a series for three years titled “To Catch a Predator” wherein they set up a sting operation to deceive and catch child predators. Would NBC now object to the deceitful methodology used in that program to expose to the American public the very real problem of pedophiles preying on children?

Come to think of it, Walsh’s documentary serves the same purpose as that “Dateline NBC” program: exposing to the American public the very real problem of radical individuals preying on the most vulnerable and innocent.

What is NBC really objecting to? The answer appears to be exposing the radical nature of the “transgender” cult.
