You can tell where the radical strongholds are in the country ever more clearly. There are at least three states that have rules saying school districts should keep student gender transitions from parents.

The latest example of this happened in Maryland, where Montgomery County Public Schools was being sued by three parents who ardently disagreed with the district’s “gender support plan.” This plan allowed for teachers, school counselors, and school administrators to help students keep gender transitions a secret from their parents if those students indicated they will not be supported in this decision by their parents at home.

The three parents who brought the case argued that it was a violation of their 14th Amendment rights. The case was thrown out because the plaintiffs did not have children who struggle with gender identity or who were part of the “gender support plan.” The court did, however, admit that even though these parents had no standing to make such a complaint, that “does not mean their objections are invalid.”

Judge A. Marvin Quattlebaum Jr. noted: “In fact, they may be quite persuasive. But, by failing to show any injury to themselves, the parents’ opposition … reflects a policy disagreement. And policy disagreements should be addressed to elected policymakers at the ballot box, not to unelected judges in the courthouse.”

This affects some 350 students across Montgomery County. An unknown number of them are actively hiding their gender transitions from their parents. It will take another parent or two with the same strategy but with a student whose life is being shattered by this pernicious ideology for this to change.

This school district is also infamous for disallowing religious parents from opting their kids out of LGBTQ+ curriculum. It does this by no longer informing parents when these lessons are going to happen.

Maryland is not alone in having activists sabotage parental rights. New Jersey’s Middletown, Marlboro, and Manalapan-Englishtown regional school districts all were brought before a judge because they were implementing a policy that would notify parents if a child declares that he or she is transitioning. This is good. However, what happened next is not.

New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin filed three “emergency” lawsuits on behalf of Governor Phil Murphy’s administration in opposition to the policies. This one is even more nefarious in some ways than the Maryland case because it is a radical Democrat governor who is trying to allow for this cult indoctrination to continue and blindside parents with it.

The attorney general argued that this sort of policy is discriminatory and harmful — which is ridiculous. Parents have a right to know everything that is going on with their child, good and bad. It’s as ridiculous as suggesting a teacher not tell parents that their child is failing a class and surprising them with an “F” at the end of the semester. It would be a pertinent analogy, except the transgender ideology is infinitely more harmful than a failing grade. It leads children to darker and darker places, all in the vain attempt to do the impossible: change their sex.

Ironically, it is a school district in California — of all places — that has successfully instituted a policy where if a student decides to go by a different gender, the teacher has to report it to the parents. Murrieta Valley Unified School District became the second school district in California to pass such a policy. By a vote of 3-2, the school board approved the new policy and the activists were furious.

They threatened lawsuits, they threatened death, and they threatened smearing of their names. They also intimated that should the policy pass, the board members were advocates of violence against children.

But the parents prevailed.

Political pundit Matt Walsh sees this turn of events in California as the beginning of the end of the “trans” indoctrination. As more and more states take steps to protect children from this ideology and the Marxism from which it stems, one can only hope that is the case.
