The Patriot Post® · Challenging Our Debt
At the very moment I began to write this article, I checked the National Debt Clock. The United States is $ 14, 447, 252, 952, 307 in debt! Put into perspective, it takes 31, 688 years for one trillion seconds to pass. How do the so-called experts intend to resolve the situation? It is patently clear that we must begin the process of digging ourselves our of the hole dug by our government. If we make the effort to pay back just one dollar per second, it would take 12 days to pay just one million dollars. That is really shoveling against the tide.
Who got us into this horrible mess? The United States Congress. They are the keeper of our credit card and just like a teenager who manages to obtain a credit card, Congress went crazy and The Federal Reserve Bank just kept on foolishly printing money with no substantial backing, like a few tons of Gold and Silver. In addition, Congress raided the Social Security Trust and spent it into near bankruptcy. The word is irresponsibility in all capitals.
Now that we know how and who got us into this, what steps must we take to stop the outflow and begin the correction? Those who spent it must do a major part in refilling the company till. Every Federal employee except the military in pay grades from E1 through O-6 MUST take a 15% pay cut for the next five years, beginning yesterday. A minor cut of that minitude would result in a recoupment of $ 22, 335, 150, 000 each year for a five year pay back of over 110 Billion US Dollars.
In addition, cut off the power to Ben Bernanke’s printing presses, no borrowing, no excuses and absolutely NO raising of the Debt Ceiling. When Congress and the federal work force make the necessary day-to-day personal financial adjustments, they can handle another 10% cut in 2016. At that point, they should have gotten the message, At least America will be on the road to recovery and a totally new and smarter Congress will have figured out how to live on a budget. Over 300 Million Americans give or take a few thousand idiots, live within self-imposed budget constraints.
Just for good measure, turn all functions seized by the federal government back to the individual states. Example, the Department of Education and its 50 billion dollar a year budget and its poorly monitored direct student loan performance with 25 Billion in mandated expenditures. Cut or modify the 133 Billion in Direct Federal loans that have a very negative history of repayment.
Remove the Federal Government from the Energy business, too many pockets are lined and not enough oil and natural gas is getting into America’s pipelines.
Let’s consider a Constitutional Convention in order to take the “Living” portion away from the activist judiciary. Decide whether or not marriage should be defined in the Constitution. Take that play completely out of the hands of the President and his coterie of colorful LGBT playmates.
