The downgrade of America’s credit apparently caused Obama no loss of sleep; he headed for Camp David and a weekend of, well Obama’s favorite pastime, doing absolutely nothing of value or importance.

On the other hand, his sycophantic cheering squad filled the gap with a spate of hostile and ill-advised sniping at Americans who are well represented by the Tea Party Movement. One sniper was Joe Nocera, a very bright business correspondent who had the temerity to castigate the Tea Party with the snide remark, “You know what they say: never negotiate with terrorists. It only encourages them. These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people….”

Maureen Dowd, the snotty redhead dowager and New York Times columnist chimed in on August 3 with, “Tea Party budget-slashers were like cannibals, eating their own party and leader alive. They were like vampires, draining the country’s reputation, credit rating and compassion. They were like zombies, relentlessly and mindlessly coming back again and again to assault their unnerved victims. Boehner and Obama…” And it became even more hyperbolic. Maureen, we all know your job requires the use of words, but that far over the top?

On July 29, Bloomberg columnist, Margaret Carlson on Inside Washington offered, “There’s a nihilist caucus which is, ‘Listen, we want to burn the place down.'….” Again the hyperbole!

I guess the hatred for honest Americans’ concern for their country is just too unfathomable for the media.

Also on July 29, MSNBC’s Economic Analyst, Steve Rattner on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, tossed in this exaggeration, “You know, the problem with this is it’s like a form of economic terrorism. I imagine these Tea Party guys are, like, strapped with dynamite, standing in the middle of Times Square at rush hour and saying, ‘Either you do it my way, or we’re going to blow you up, ourselves up, and the whole country with us.’ And, if that were not stupid, foolish and grandiose hyperbole enough, check out the next one.

A New York Times far-left Columnist, Thomas Friedman opined, "If sane Republicans do not stand up to this Hezbollah faction in their midst, the Tea Party will take the GOP on a suicide mission.”

Let’s get something straight, Mr. Nocera, Ms. Dowd, Ms. Carlson, Mr. Rattner and especially you Mr. Friedman. In case you have forgotten, you five and your compatriots in the left wing of the Fourth Estate have the God-given right to Freedom of Speech as do ALL the members, male and female of the Tea Party movement. You have the right and the obligation to be correct and truthful. Your calling or chosen profession is descendant from a long line of God-fearing, sane, scrupulously honest practitioners of your craft.

You have become a sick and dishonest confederation of purveyors of tripe, filth and outright lies. Fortunately, there are those who still report the truth without exaggeration or embellishment. You on the left are killing what used to be an honorable profession. Pay attention if you are able. The Tea Party movement is far too large to have formulated an adversarial position to The United States of America. We are not hoodlums or terrorists nor are we in any jihadist movement. We waited and prayed patiently and expectantly for the Obama administration to carry out the Hopes and Promises made in 2007 through 2010. All we received were more vague promises, a cloistered oval office, and a plethora of lies.

We, the People of this great and promising nation are awaiting the big turn around. We would be overjoyed to have an open, honest and free press upon which we can depend. We the People are over 300 Million strong. We are Black, White, Yellow, Red, and Brown. We will not go away. We will overcome any and all obstacles. We, not you hold our destiny in our hands. You are welcome to join us if you have the right stuff. I pray you do.
