The Patriot Post® · What Do We Glean From the GOP Debates?
I have watched all but one of the so-called GOP debates. In every instance there was little definable substance. There is one thing I have observed; Rick Santorum, Rick Perry and Mitt Romney are treading on thin ice. They are playing directly into the hands of the Obamacrats. That is a No-No!
The GOP is making a huge mistake having any of the liberal media involved with the debates. The Fox News Network is most apt to deal with the debates in a neutral fashion. That caveat would not include such sometimes invitees as Alan Colmes, Bob Bechel or Juan Williams, all lean to the left.
Newt Gingrich has the appropriate idea; copy the format used in the Lincoln Douglas debates. The RNC has an obligation to evaluate the candidates and publish their bona fides as TRUE conservatives. From my perspective as a long time observer of the political scene, since 1932, I make judgments that eliminate the obvious RINOs like Perry and Huntsman, Libertarians like Ron Paul who is also, in my opinion too long in the tooth to govern at the highest level in our land.
As human beings, Mitt Romney and Herman Cain are head and shoulders above Rick Perry, a turn-o-crat, Obama, an unknown outsider with no credentials and Joe Biden a fully credentialed idiot and Obama sycophant. However, Romney and Cain have far too much baggage. Herman Cain has absolutely no legislative or governance experience. He is eminently likeable, enthusiastic and positive. His 9-9-9 is not going to carry much weight for the long haul and too many unanswered or un-clarified options.
Mitt Romney is a man of faith, the Mormon Faith. If the electorate, We the People, desires a Christian to follow the precedents of our founding fathers, we cannot, then elect a Jew, a Muslim, a Mormon or any other non-Christian. Mormonism is not a Christian religion, in fact is antithetical to Christianity. Judaism is nearer to Christianity than is Mormonism.
Do we want a President possessed of high morals, steadfastness, and purpose? If so, we can instantly eliminate all but one of the candidates currently vying to be our President. That candidate is the only female to get this far in the Republican Party, Representative Michele Bachmann. It is about time for women and for America. God bless Alice Paul and America.
