The Patriot Post® · Senator Gillibrand's Bald-Faced Lie
The junior Senator from New York, Democrat Kirsten Gillibran is running for re-election. Part of her campaign rhetoric is disturbing because it is such a blatant lie. She is a lawyer, yet seems unable to grasp one simple fact: She cannot pass a law; at a minimum, it takes a part-time, patently ineffective congress and a part-time presidential pretender to do so.
In one portion of her ongoing campaign Gillibrand states:
“I’m Kirsten Gillibrand and I believe members of Congress should play by the exact same rules as families like yours. That’s why I took on my own party to end automatic Congressional pay raises. I was the first member to publish my Senate meetings, requests for funding, and personal income taxes on-line. And even though it wasn’t popular in Congress, I just passed a new law that – for the first time – bans members of Congress from insider trading. I approve this message because fixing our economy starts with cleaning up the way Washington works.”
Has she become so jaded so early in her career in hopes to impress the voters in New York that she has powers possessed by no one else?
In any event, she is perpetuating a blatant lie. Is it up to the level of perjury? It is at best misleading and at worst, unethical or criminal. That ALL politicians lie is undisputed. Just how long will We the People permit prevarication to be part and parcel of our government? I will leave that to the Congress and to the readers.
Update: Upon researching, Gillibrand is in direct violation of Title 18 USC § 1001 (a)(2) and is subject to trial and conviction with a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
