The Patriot Post® · And Now for Something Completely Different
Blame George W. Bush, if you will. I point the finger at Monty Python for ushering in a world of non-sense! I remember in college going with a friend to a local theater and watching back to back film features from the infamous comedy troupe. As I recall, we were the only ones who laughed at the absurdity.
I used to think it was funny.
It was funny when people pretended to be absurd. Now we live in a world being spun out of control by the people who brought you Title IX; no score youth soccer, the Dept of Education, Hillary Clinton, women in combat, gay marriage, abortion on demand, gun control, government defined “fairness”; green energy, smart meters and now (drum roll please) “equal access for disabled kids”.
“Its only fair (reasonable, common sense, etc)” is the new mantra. Like it or we’ll break your knuckles. Definitely not funny…
Prepare to hand in your man-card.
Actually, it is a good study in how to maneuver a society away from absolute truth to absolute insanity. It is a simple formula. The recipe looks something like this:
Explain away God or the need for faith in something higher than oneself.
Focus on feelings rather than behavior.
Disassemble the meaning of words, history, and character.
Distract attention away from personal responsibility toward victimhood by creating “crisis” that only the “government” can solve.
Vilify the successful who through personal achievement benefit the community by the products and services they create.
Convince the non-thinkers that they are incapable of self-rule.
The frustration is mounting daily on how to stop the madness. Take a deep breath. We have the blueprint. It is a matter of scale. The opinion of Washington that it is too big to fail is patently absurd. Nothing in nature teaches it. A bee hive, if it gets too big, will fail! It is the very reason the Founders gave us a Republic – not a Democracy. Democracies fail when they get too big and the majority squashes the interests and justice of the minority. Our elected officials have forgotten this and treat this society as if it were their own fiefdom. But it is an illusion; an absurdity, completely incompatible with our founding.
Here is, then, the blueprint in a handy acronym: S.C.A.L.E.
S: Simplistic. Commit to a simple lifestyle; be content with what you have. Refuse to live beyond your means. Refuse to be envious of those with greater means than yours, but insist that they gain theirs honorably and legally. Be straightforward, honest and fair in your dealings. Do to others what you’d have them do for you. Be true to your word; yes means yes, no means no. Stay gracious when wronged and accountable when wrong. Love liberty, loathe licentiousness. Have pride in your continually improving property, including but not limited to, yourself.
C: Constitutionalism. Be ruled by law, not by whim. Study the founding principles that construct our Declaration of Independence and Constitution so that when difficult times come you have your bearing.
• Understand the difference between unalienable and vested rights.
• Understand government’s proper role regarding property rights.
• Understand how private property and rule of law is essential to liberty.
• Understand how exchanging liberty for security is death to both.
• Understand what it means that all are equal under law and no ruling official is exempt from the laws and regulations they pass.
• Understand that equal protection under the law is the basis for entering our country legally.
• Understand enumerated powers and limited government; how complicated laws and regulations that lawmakers fail to even read before passing is detestable to a free people.
• Understand the difference between anarchy and tyranny and how to prevent either extreme.
• Understand that no single person’s opinion is the idea of America; but each generation has the duty to have honest debate over foundational concepts. The more local the debate the better the answers for applying these principles.
A: Association. Put together an association of trusted men with which you can begin to light brushfires of freedom in the hearts of other people in your community. You must be willing to pledge to each other your “lives, fortunes and sacred honor” as you study, discuss and live out the principles of our constitutional form of government. Pledge to respond in a moment’s notice to the infringement of rights or confiscation of each other’s property. Let your voice be heard at school, municipal, township and county board meetings. Truly government goes to those who show up!
L: Love. The highest in mankind is love. The ultimate measure of love is a willingness to lay down one’s life for others. Our founders pledged (and gave) their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for the love of people and principle. It is the DNA of our Republic’s founding. Socialism, in its various forms, is an ugly gnat in the history of the world and an affront to love; it pledges other people’s lives, fortunes and sacred honor with coercive attempts at empty promises of utopia. All legitimate law has at its heart love for others.
E: Endowment. In God We Trust. The farmer who exchanges his trust in a benevolent Creator, the Giver of rain & sun essential to his crops for a temporal hope in a government agency leads a nation to ruin. To answer to our Creator for our works here on earth is a more potent restraint on behavior than an ever growing behemoth of intrusive regulators. Trust in Divine protection is the hope that gives strength alone to meet the challenges of tyranny and anarchy.
Beware. Those of us who commit to this course will be marginalized, suspected, prosecuted, accused and ignored. In our county, we acted to return our Republican Party to conservative principles. It took perhaps three meetings to get the bylaws changed. Next we put forth a candidate for county board; he won and has quickly challenged the status quo. And already rumors are circulating about our “secret” group!
Stay alert. There will be the like-minded who will seek you out to learn from your success.
Stay True.
Be Wise.
Be Strong.
Keep your man-card…and have the last laugh!
