The Patriot Post® · Pope Benedict Resigns -- Next?
Pope Benedict resigns the papacy effective Feb 28, 2013. Now what? The talk on the circuits is whether a Black will become Pope, but Black, White, Brown, Green, Yellow, or something else, who cares, as long as it is the Holy Spirit doing the guidance.
Hopefully the Holy Spirit will guide the bishops and a political agreement can be avoided. Interfering with the will of God never results in good.
American Bishops should not even be under consideration because of the pedophile clergy scandals that have been enabled by many American bishops. Choosing one of them would be suspect as the pedophile scandals have cost the American catholic church at least one-third of its membership, closure of churches, schools, social facilities, medical centers, and north of a $Billion in damages and still growing.
Pope Paul VI was popular as a world traveler, but he did nothing to expel the offending clergy. Simple apologies on such a serious matter are simply not adequate. Pope Benedict did not fare much better in that first of all, he advocated early sainthood for his predecessor. Then he came out with a statement to the effect that homosexuals using condoms was a first step toward responsibility.
The problem with that approach is the very first book of the Bible, Genesis, chapter 38, verses 1-10 in which God takes the life of Onan for “simply” spilling his seed on the ground.
That narrative also backs up marriage between one man and one woman, precluding active homosexuality. Note the events in Genesis 38: 1-10 depicting Onan who intentionally spilled his semen on the ground preventing offspring for his childless deceased brother:
1 At that time, Judah left his brothers and went down to stay with a man of Adullam named Hirah.
2 There Judah met the daughter of a Canaanite man named Shua. He married her and lay with her;
3 She became pregnant and gave birth to a son, who was named Er.
4 She conceived again and gave birth to a son and named him Onan.
5 She gave birth to still another son and named him Shelah. It was at Kezib that she gave birth to him.
6 Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar.
7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so the LORD put him to death.
8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Lie with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother.”
9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother.
10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.
Verse 2 above refers to marriage specifically, and as to gay marriage, that is a man-made gay mirage. God created them male and female and ordered all living things, man, animal, fruit, vegetable, and all others to increase and multiply, which can only be done with male/female reaction, or the seed in it. Contrary to rampant public opinion, gay marriage is not a biblical right.
Bishops have vacillated on this issue, and catholic educators of higher education are notorious for their seeming approval of LGBT on campus, and associate students with internship opportunities with organizations like Planned Parenthood that are diametrically opposed to catholic doctrine as regards abortion.
The next Pope will have his hands full and will require that God is guiding his hand in so difficult a time in the new-crisis-a-day world. Man is simply not man enough to do the job without Divine Providence.
