The Patriot Post® · Bubbles Bursting in Mid-Air
Absent prospects for jobs after graduation, college is not worth incurring six-figure debt not counting loss of wages and entry-level job training. Today’s job market in the US and the world is dismal with real unemployment at about 15% and up to 25% in some Euro zone countries.
College is over-priced, over-rated, and over-hyped by President Obama who advocates for everyone to go to college. College is big business favoring big institutions with tenured professors, massive buildings, heavily funded sports programs, and overhead that imparts no particular skills that cannot be learned from part-time attendance at community colleges or with accredited on-line courses accompanied by on-the job training.
For high school graduates it may be wiser for many to use the six-figure debt to buy an existing profitable business and continue education part-time rather than pay that price for partying and developing bad social habits. Better to learn a valuable trade than education that left unused in the job market rapidly loses its relevancy and value.
Regardless of the major course of study chosen, graduates change their career seven to ten times during their working lifetime making the initial major course less meaningful. College and the accompanying debt may be a bubble waiting its turn to burst. Student debt now exceeds total credit card debt.
Presumably some of Obama’s entourage on his visit to Israel have college backgrounds, but still, Obama’s “Iron Beast” limo broke down and had to be towed, apparently after being filled with gasoline instead of diesel fuel. What they do not teach in college is common sense.
Likewise, Catholic bishops are a day late and a dollar short in that the time to oppose ObamaCare was when it was being debated for nearly two years, not now that repeal in the House is meaningless as the Senate will do its usual nothing, and if they did pass repeal, then Obama would veto the repeal.
The only thing that would work now is defund ObamaCare in the House, but RINO Speaker Boehner cuddles up to Obama but Boehner could have blocked initial funding but caved on budget and spending more than a handful of times and is probably a secret admirer of Obama, so repeal is definitely out and defunding does not stand a chance.
God bless…NO…God SAVE America. Douglas MacArthur once said, “The enemy is in front of us, the enemy is behind us, the enemy is to the right and to the left of us. They can’t get away this time!” Yeah, but he was only dealing with identifiable enemies while the enemies in the House particularly come from both sides of the aisle, Democrats as well as Republicans who are supposedly CONSERVATIVE.
Then there are budget costs based on sequestration that cut military spending. The brilliant Senate Leader Harry Reid’s cries in his beer that an accident that killed eight military possibly due to an exploding weapon, was alleged to be because of sequester cuts that have not yet materialized.
Not to be outdone intellectually, Obama canceled inexpensive White House tours because of sequestration cuts when the fact is that much of this service is done by volunteers. Adding insult to injury, for the same reason, Obama is supposedly toying with the idea of canceling the traditional Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn.
Obama is also emptying jails because of sequestration and the only conclusion about his petty actions is that he wants to punish the American people for actually going along with his own signed, sealed, and delivered sequestration cuts that he now blames on Republicans. Houdini could not do a better job of “now you see it, now you don’t.” Obama has no fear of repercussions from his spiteful actions since he has un-American traitor Harry Reid covering his back in the Senate.
RINO WhineO GOP Senators McCain and Graham recently met with President Obama behind closed doors to conspire on amnesty for illegal immigrants and Graham continued his call for more immigrant workers during a time of 15% unemployment when considering those unemployed not actively looking for non-existent jobs. Sounds like RINOs are also WhineOs, proof-positive that there is in fact just a one-party two-party system that is stacked against the American people.
Optimism about improvement in the near-term is an illusion as Americans not only lost their moral compass but the spoiled rotten 8 in 10 Americans under 30 support gay marriage, and that in a nutshell tells us where the country is heading as it becomes a virtual Sodom and Gomorrah.
The same two RINO WhineO GOP Senators McCain and Graham are calling for President Obama to a get more directly involved in the two-year old conflict against Syrian President Bashir al-Assad. When will they ever learn? Those over-educated Senate deadbeats have not learned from recent history of Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, and Libya, among others, as they agitate for Obama to act on civil strife in Syria, forgetting that replacing one bad guy with a bunch of bad guys always makes matters worse. Candidate Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign touted the message of “change,” totally ignoring that change can also be from bad to worse.
As to illegal immigrants themselves, when caught in a public venue without a ticket, the penalty is ejection or the required purchase of the ticket but in the US, illegal entry is rewarded on the understanding of quid pro quo and a distortion on a bronze plaque hung in the Statue of Liberty, “Give me your tired, your poor, "your vote.” As long as illegal voting is the ultimate purpose of unfettered amnesty, the problem can only get worse.
Finally, homosexuals, while making up about three percent of the population, have great influence and deep pockets and are effectively the flea wagging the dog, casting aspersions on traditional “one man-one woman” marriage, upsetting the moral compass of the country. The Clintons have come out swinging for gay marriage, as opposed to their original stance against it. Flip-flopping is now the law of the land.
Some of the great failed civilizations of the world extolled the virtues of homosexuality. Remnants of ancient civilizations attest to the eventual demise of civilizations whose immorality conflicts with natural law as well as those that ridicule Christian Judeo moral principles. America is headed in the tragic downward direction. The US Titanic has already hit the iceberg but the band is playing so loudly and incessantly that there is a reluctance to board the few available lifeboats.
Don Ho made bubbles famous with his “Tiny bubbles, In the wine, Make me happy, Make me feel fine." Would that Hawaii were more famous for this bubble song than it is for its Barack Obama bumble…oops – bubble.
