Barney Miller in the Season 7 TV Episode 18 “Lady and the Bomb” originally shown on April 9, 1981 features the story of an agitated woman threatening to blow up the squad room with a homemade pressure cooker bomb if they do not get a hospital to dispose of radiation waste dangerously building up in the hospital. Her bomb was in a pressure cooker and the lady recited the ingredients to prove it really was a bomb. Evidently, 32 years later, the Boston Marathon Bombers, or their tutors saw the program and used a pressure cooker bomb to wreak death and havoc on bystanders at the finish line.

According to this article on NPR, Why Use A Pressure Cooker To Build A Bomb?:

“Reports of pressure cookers being used as bombs go back to at least the 1990s, when they were first used by Maoists in Nepal during the civil war there, and they are still used in the mountain nation with alarming frequency,” writes John Reed on Foreign Policy’s National Security blog. “By the 2000s, such weapons were being found across the region at terrorist camps on the frontier of Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

That was in the 1990s but the Barney Miller show depicted this pressure cooker bomb in 1981. Where did they ever get the idea that seems so new today, some 32 years later? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Seems to be a truism, “There is nothing new under the sun,” including Nixon-type political cover-ups as that of the Fort Hood Shooter Major Nidal Malik Hasan who killed 13 military plus an unborn baby as he shouted “Allahu Akbar,” meaning Allah is Greater, still on US payroll having received almost $300,000 since massacring 14. Incidentally, if Allah is greater, Allah is not God because God is the greatest; none can possibly be greater.

Another Obama scandal involves Ms. Lerner. The IRS head was given leave with pay though she refused to testify before Congress, taking the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination, a right she actually waived by her opening statement first, thereby subjecting her to further interrogation. No one in the Obama administration is fired or disciplined, but secretly either staying on the same job or transferred to other duties, while receiving the same or greater pay.

The innocent will be punished but the guilty have the Liberal Progressive government and the ACLU to not only get them off the hook, but getting them compensation to boot.
