The Patriot Post® · The Fall of the Scouts
It is a sad time. A bastion of moral fortitude has fallen … even though supported by the Supreme Court of the land. The history of our nation, and indeed world history, teaches us that when an institution of any size relinquishes its principles, it never regains them except through deep, Godly repentance. Since our once great nation has forsaken the God that created and blessed her, it should be no surprise that the late, great Boy Scouts of America has followed suit.
Though not a surprise, the disappointment is grave. Their once noble creed must now be changed, for the BSA can never be “morally straight” again. What a loss for young boys and men who once could trust this organization with the protection and growth of their persons! What a loss for parents who can now reasonably fear that homosexuals will consider their sons valid prey! (Oh, yes, they will!) To be sure, the BSA has been sued in times past for homosexual (pedophilic) abuse, and the minds of homosexuals can only see this submission to allow homosexual scouts as some kind of consent to their behavior. To think otherwise is the height of naïveté.
Obviously, the charges against the BSA in recent times for abuses by pedophile (homosexual) predators who “sneaked” in were not enough of a clue for the BSA leaders. On top of this, the Human Rights Campaign (a front for homosexual pursuits) has stated unequivocally that acquiescence on the part of the BSA is not enough:
“It is good news that BSA leadership is open to ending the ban on gay Scouts, but this resolution must go further,” said Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin.
Gentlemen of the BSA, the foot of immoral turpitude is stuck in the door, and you will never be able to close that door again. They will not let you!
The BSA National Council abandoned the moral fortitude that they are supposed to instill in their entrusted youth, and that young boys and men have a right to expect in their leaders. Perhaps homosexuals gained positions in the BSA hierarchy and pried leaders from their historical principles. Or, perhaps council members are just “soft touches.” Then again, maybe they were hoping that giving in to homosexuals would pacify them and that they would stay from abusing their scouts. (The same attitude, I believe, that our nation has toward the Muslims.) The fact that some major organizations were removing their financial support does not seem to be a viable excuse, simply because giving in to such requires a renunciation of Boy Scout principles. The council should have read up on them. Just the same, some combination of these seems probable.
Now that the national council has allowed a breech in the dam, it will be weaker against the deluge to come; attempting to plug it with a finger will not hold back the pressure that will gradually break the dyke. So much for the bulwarks that are supposed to guard our youth!
Web messages would indicate that morally sound individuals, Bible-based churches, and principled organizations are disconnecting from the BSA because of of an excess amount of rubber in the backbones of BSA council members. Since the BSA leadership has refused to protect our youth and has destroyed their own creed, what choice do parents and youth have but to seek others in whom they can trust?
