There is a decided disconnect in the thinking of those in Washington, D.C. these days. The 545 Elite, consisting of the President, the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Supreme Court, all somehow have come to the notion that the government and everything it does, owns and runs belongs to them.

President Obama along with the Senate has decided to shut down the Peoples government because they can not come to a consensus on how to fund a bloated government and programs they passed into law.

The American People have seen a bi-partisan consensus to funnel billions of their hard earned tax dollars to the big banks, bankers, auto companies, foreign nations and private companies, yet when it comes to a continuing resolution to fund the government for a mere ten weeks, the President and his minions in the Senate refuse to budge on even the most reasonable conditions.

The President has said that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is now law and the Republican controlled House of Representatives has no right to defund, restrict or amend the law and he therefore will not compromise on any continuing appropriations resolutions and the Nations government shut down.

The American Peoples government does not consist of only a dictatorial President. The members of the House of Representatives are the closest elected officials in the government to the People. They have their hand on the pulse of the Nation, yet President Obama would disregard their votes in a partisan attempt to save his Presidency from his own failures. He has amended provisions of the PPACA, exempted favorites from the effects of the PPACA, exempted Congress from the effects of PPACA and even delayed implementation of the employer mandate of the PPACA, yet when the Republican controlled House attempted to reverse his dictatorial directives he balked.

This is not government of the People, By the People and for the People, it is government of Barack Obama, by Barack Obama and for Barack Obama. This shutdown belongs to Barack Obama. He owns it.
