The Patriot Post® · ObamaCare in Tatters, but Rush to Amnesty
No sooner is one ObamaCare job done badly, perhaps beyond repair, when President Obama rushes the illegal immigrant amnesty push. Congress restored full government operations by raising the debt ceiling. President Obama and lockstep Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pressure, embarrass, and intimidate House Republicans into passing comprehensive immigration reform. Republican House Speaker John Boehner is under pressure from Republicans and Democrats alike to pass an amnesty bill, the real Obama intent of immigration reform, and that it needs to be done by the end of this year. Reid told a Spanish audience that he and the pro-amnesty lobby will accept nothing short of a direct path to citizenship for all declared 12 million illegal aliens that may be more than double that number currently in the country, and he will never agree to anything less than a pathway to citizenship.
Congress extended funding through mid-January and raised the debt limit until February 7, leaving precious little time to take on a new ObAmnesty sure to become another travesty, considering that ObamaCare is in tatters and may in fact be beyond repair.
Obama refused to negotiate ObamaCare, Deficit, and Debt, and there is no guarantee that he would suddenly have serious immigration discussions. Obama, though showing a mean streak against Christianity suddenly found strange bedfellows he is quick to enjoin for his immigration amnesty push.
Obama is quick to enlist the aid of Evangelicals in their battle for “Biblical” Immigration. The Bible balances out both sides of the issue in that the Bible advocates kindness to sojourner aliens, but places responsibility of aliens not to cause injustice to local citizens and their unique culture. Sovereign countries are entitled to “build walls” to keep out unwanted aliens and the criminal element.
Serious negatives caused by illegal immigrants include crime, drugs, disruption of jobs for legal residents, and bleeding the welfare system for unentitled “entitlements.”
The present state of legislative affairs is a conundrum in that nothing gets done right but that there is a rush to amnesty to tackle yet another project to be done badly and beyond repair. The Tower of Babel comes to mind in that the idea was to build a tower to the heavens, with one language, much like ObamaCare as to reaching the heavens of health care insurance, heaven on earth, with one computer language. But everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the building of the Tower of Babel that used bricks instead of stone, and down it came.
So there it is; Babel came down because of OLD technology, so why did ObamaCare unravel despite utilizing the NEW technology, computer gurus, geeks, experts, and language? Dissection of the ObamaCare “debacle” as described by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, is the fault of “people.” The surgery was a success but the patient died anyway, perhaps a harbinger of things to come for America that despite the best efforts of mice or men, offense to mice not intended. That fits the rationale of abortionists, environmentalists, and the History Channel that feel the planet would be better off without people.
Does that mean the ObamaCare problems can be fixed if only there were no people that need health insurance, or at least not so many of them? The fact that ObamaCare uses taxpayer funds to pay for abortion, contraceptives, and abortifacients to reduce populations that would no longer need ObamaCare, might be the Liberal best argument for indefatigable Atheists who plan a 2014 Salt Lake City convention to celebrate their faith in lack of faith.
Atheists in fact practice religion, particularly when they feel they must unite as do religious congregations to reinforce each other in their denial of the existence of God, lest there appear a crack in the armor and they must come to believe themselves. If there were no God to believe in, atheists are wasting their precious fun-time preaching against the existence of God. If there were no God, their getting together as a group convention style is like spitting in the wind, with absolutely no consequence. If there were no God, eat drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die. And then?
And then there is what to do about ObamaScare that is turning out to be just that, with no end in sight, with the eluding faith and hope that everything will turn our alright. It may be a fallacy or a figment of the imagination that ObamaCare will be built better, bigger, and stronger, when history relates the opposite to be more likely. Without warning, the NY Twin Towers came down in the blink of an eye, but the proud replacement may very well be just that; better, bigger, and stronger, with a Muslim Memorial Mosque nearby, pointing out the spot of an enticing new target.
Brazilian novelist, Paulo Coelho is noted for this famous quote: “Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time.” Since the Twin Towers have been attacked twice, destroyed in the second attack, perhaps it may be certain that Muslim Jihadists already have their eyes on the new Twin Tower replacement, The Freedom Tower, or One World Trade Center, the replacement for what was the Twin Towers.
Since ObamaCare has been relentlessly attacked during its construction, and now is attacked by friend and foe alike, it must be inevitable that the next attack, implementation, will prove to be the indefensible and slow lingering painful death to the ObamaCare architects, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, the Democratic Party, and perhaps bring down their nemesis, the Grand Old Party… Wishful thinking.
This non Ivy Leaguer proposes a simple solution: Automatic Medicare for all legal residents of the US. Medicare is established, proven, and has the necessary superstructure rules and regulations that do not have to be reinvented like the ObamaCare nearly 20,000 pages of law and regulations. Every legal resident would automatically be covered with the same vanilla health care plan and like existing Medicare users, can opt for supplemental insurance for whatever their special circumstances call for.
Two more or less related problems include annual deficit spending that rolls over into burgeoning national debt now topping $17 trillion dumped onto future generations. How to pay for health, spending, and debt are problems created by present generations and there must be a method of paying NOW.
Payment may be simpler than it appears. Roughly half the population pays nothing in taxes and it becomes increasingly more difficult for the diminishing few to pay for the increasing many. No problem. Install a 3% National Sales Tax (NST) with no exceptions and no exemptions. Say goodbye to K Street lobbyists. Allocate the estimated annual $12-Trillion between Budget, Debt, and Universal MediCare. Simultaneously simplify Income Tax, reducing personal and business rates to a maximum graduated 20%. Pulling a heavy load is made easier with all pulling the wagon instead of free-riding the wagon.
