“Man proposes, God disposes” probably originated from “Imitation of Christ” by Thomas Kempis, the most read Christian book after the Bible. Humans can make any plans they want, but though it may take a while, God decides ultimate success or failure. Humans make plans but cannot control the outcome. Kempis wrote the axiom, “There is no creature so small and abject, that it representeth not the goodness of God,” which is manifest in all of creation.

“How Great Thou Art” is a beautiful hymn that says it all.

“O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art.”

Albert Einstein made the statement, “The difference between the most intelligent human and the least intelligent human is infinitesimal compared to all the intelligence there is.” None should too deeply bask in their own status and glory as expressed in Luke 14:11, “All those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

A famous line from the 1994 movie “Forrest Gump” character played by Tom Hanks, “Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” No need for further comment on vagaries of life.

Another line from the same movie, “Stupid is as stupid does,” which meaning is more profound. What is done determines stupidity versus intelligence. An intelligent person who does stupid things is stupid; you are what you do. Persons are judged stupid by stupid acts they commit. This “Stupid” line is an iteration of “Beauty is as beauty does,” derived itself from “Handsome is as handsome does.” How one acts reflects true beauty or lack thereof, not merely superficial looks. True beauty is internal character, not superficial outward appearance that too often holds sway.

Stupid is as stupid does applies to all federal politicians as now Democrats suddenly accept the previously denied premise of the GOP that wanted a one-year delay of the ObamaCare mandate for individuals and small business compliance because it was not ready for prime-time. Obama previously and unconstitutionally gave a one-year delay to big business, so it was senseless not to extend that delay to all citizens. Democrats are coming around to the demonized GOP point that caused the recent partial shutdown of government.

Now Dems and Obama want compromise they previously rejected. Dems want GOP cooperation to accomplish this, but the answer in a hermetically-sealed jar, as divined by Johnny Carson playing Carnac the Magnificent on The Tonight Show is: “Let them stew in their own juice.” Put into politically incorrect language, “Let Dems choke on their own vomit.” When enemies are self-destructing, get out of the way, but that will not happen, as the GOP is Stupid is as stupid does. GOP must realize they won, and stop useless fighting. Stand by and enjoy the carnage.

The character Carnac was taken from Steve Allen in his “Answer Man” segment that closely resembled Ernie Kovacs and “Mr. Question Man,” lending still more credence to Bible wisdom preceding them all, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Humans simply regurgitate what has been learned over its 6,000 year recorded history, so what differentiates plagiarism from knowledge of history?

Love Story is the 1970 movie starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal, and is noteworthy for its signature line, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry” In real life, the phrase is Wrong Wrong Wrong. Not apologizing for hurting loved ones is arrogant, ignorant, inconsiderate, stupid, and typical of those who bully, be they spouses, friends, classmates, and associates. Politicians are the worst offenders who rarely apologize, but blame everyone but the kitchen sink as their apology is based on the non-apology blame-shifting line, “IF I offended you,” or passing the blame, “If YOU misunderstood me, I am sorry.”

Epistemology is the study of knowledge and justified belief, defined as the theory of knowledge with regard to its methods, validity, and scope; an investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion; or in the vernacular; “Separating fact from fiction.”

Somehow that comes back to ObamaCare, “Affordable” Care Act, and President Obama who nearly thirty-times on recorded TV, often and loudly proclaimed “If you like your healthcare plan you can keep it…PERIOD.” The lie was finally exposed, that Obama, though knowing that not to be true, used repetition of the lie to sell ObamaCare since 2010.

Caught in irrefutable lies, the serial liar turns to the infamous Bill Clinton rationale, “It all depends on what the definition of "IS” is,“ Now Obama solemnly looks into the camera and lies again, that he MEANT, "If the plan did not change,” even merely a comma, you can keep it. In effect, Obama repeats the Groucho Marx line, but not as humorously, “Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?”
