A tide of discontent may be the vehicle needed to lift us upon the shores of a new, better reality. Let the blind, foolish search for an earthly Utopia end here.

Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
Act 4, scene 3
Brutus:

There is a tide in the affairs of men.

 Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;

Omitted, all the voyage of their life

Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,

 Or lose our ventures.

The discontent over Obamacare has reached epic proportions. Everyone knows about it. At one point, Charles Krauthammer even opined that this might be the end of the present-day liberal movement. He went further to say that liberals like Nancy Pelosi, who are still defending Obamacare, are displaying “classic denial.”

I see the tide arising. It’s rolling into shore.
I’m gonna find new happiness, I’m not gonna weep no more.

That was fun. Seriously, it was fun. And I am one conservative who could use some fun. The re-election of Barack Obama was a disappointment, to say the least.

Perhaps, finally, Obama and his band of maniacal social engineers have gone too far. Perhaps, finally, Americans are angry enough for Congress to hear our growl. Perhaps, finally, Republicans might begin to smell some votes and grow some, uh, courage.

People need to understand that government cannot efficiently run a healthcare system. Changes to Medicare and Medicaid could probably solve the problem of the uninsured and qualified at a much lower cost.

Certainly, there has been discontent among conservatives for quite some time. That is not news, but this is not that ripple. This is a tide. Perhaps it is a tsunami. It has collected both liberals and conservatives. It is potentially washing us all onto a new shore. A place where hope for a better reality can live. Perhaps false hope in an earthly Utopia may finally lose its appeal.

Somewhere, a secular-liberal-socialist may have just read the last paragraph and asked, “What is wrong with hoping for, or trying to build Utopia?” To which, I answer: careful there fella, your secularism is showing. Every honest, thoughtful person knows that God alone holds the keys to Utopia. The Bible story of the Tower of Babel tells us what happens when man wants to be his own god and tries to elevate self to the heavens.

Indeed, the utopian rhetoric and empty promises of liberal politicians, of both parties, have always been lies. They are lies that allowed subtle tyranny to slowly kill liberty. They are lies that slowly replaced trust in God with trust in politicians. To continue on that path is to reap the judgment we deserve. Nothing could be more despicable. The selfish greed of people who sold their votes is incomprehensible.

To insure the best outcome, let us ride this tide of discontent. The anger over Obamacare must become even more prevalent and more powerful, if possible. Obama and his SS troops will try to fix it, spin it, and save it. The battle over Obamacare is not over. It has become a symbolic battle between ideologies. However, the tide is finally turning.

Perhaps here is a better way to express the urgency: do not just ride the tide, pick up an oar and row:

Hey, Patriot, grab that bale of tea; throw it overboard. Now, do you see that distant light? There is our freedom. Let us row for it with all our strength and resolve. The lies and distractions have enslaved us for far too long. Black man, white man, rich man, poor man, let us purpose this day to bind ourselves together, an irresistible force, and row, row for the light.

Freedom is not free. It is not just a slogan. It applies to every American, not just our military.

Obamacare has awakened a sleeping giant. Perhaps, on the part of some, the discontent is just another form of self-interest. None-the-less, a tide is a tide. This one is rolling to a new shore with great force. Get onboard. Do what you can. Dip an oar and row if you are able.

“The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing. … You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right, there is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream – the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. … It’s time we asked ourselves if we still know the freedoms intended for us by the Founding Fathers.” – Ronald Reagan
